FOR SALE:
2016 FWC Grandby FD
$20k OBO
Reno NV
You know all those campers for sale that are in pristine, garage kept condition and have rarely been used? The ones that have never been cooked in, seen a dirt road, or been in a Patagonian wind storm?
This IS NOT one of those campers.
This Grandby has been to 16 countries and has probably seen around 1300 nights of use. It was my full time home for close to four years. It's seen a lot of adventures and it wears the scars to prove it.
It is, however, nearly fully loaded.
Front Dinette
Silver Spur Interior
Flush Mount Sink and Stove
Indoor and outdoor showers
Factory Furnace (the good one)
Isotherm DC refrigerator
ARB Awning (New)
Thermal Pack (new)
Zero Declination Drop Tent
135Ah Lithium
Victron BMV Battery Monitor
Victron Orion DCDC Charger
4awg Upgrade
300w Solar
Victron 100/20 MPPT Charge Controller
1000w Renogy Inverter (E bikes, C-Pap, small blender, whatever floats your boat)
2x Maxxfans (1 10spd, in/out and 1 4spd out only)
Newly upholstered dinette cushions
The siding shows dents, scratches, and brush marks
The roof is creased, and slightly bent from being caught by a particularly violent Argentine wind during setup.
One of the windows has a small tear in the screen material
All of the cabinets, and the fridge show scuffing and wear from years and miles of cans of chili and bottles of beer over rough roads.
The edge banding is peeling in a few places inside.
There are small cracks above the door frame, I assume from wheeling the $hit out of it over the years.
The tub and lower sides were pretty beat up, so we re-sealed them with flex seal and plated the wings with diamond plate.
The passenger side, rear jack bracket made contact with a 4-Runner a few years ago. The aluminum framing itself was not damaged, but the lag screws pulled out from the wood backing.
We removed the jack bracket, as well as the hardwood inside the aluminum tubing and replaced the mounting wood, as well as all four jack brackets. Everything has been re-sealed with butyl tape.
There are no extra cushions for the slide-out bed, slide is still in tact to be made into a queen, you'd just need to source a different mattress or the correct added cushions if you want to use the pull-out queen bed.
Everything works and nothing leaks. This is a camper that would be perfect for someone who wants to use it. If you're looking to have the prettiest thing at the next overland parking lot meet, this is not the camper for you.
If you want to throw this sucker on a long bed 4x4 and head immediately to Baja, Utah, Alaska, or Argentina and are looking for a really well optioned used camper that isn't priced as new, this is for you.
To get ahead of this: A Grandby is for a FULL SIZE 8' BED. It will not fit your Tacoma.
Also this: I don't really know what this thing is worth, $20k is the starting price. Depending on demand and offers, it could go up, or it could go down. That's how capitalism works.
