Hey everyone

I was always curious of how well my Tacoma would do while towing a loaded box trailer with my fully equipped Fwc swift on it. I finally have a reason to, so I'm driving 2000 miles fully loaded from Montana to Pennsylvania.
I must say I'm really impressed how well my 6 cylinder Tacoma handles it. I can drive 70 mph on cruise control no problem, with the occasional down shift on passes. Barely can tell the trailers there and it is completely packed full (gear, leer shell, tires etc)...
Gas mileage on the other hand is not doing that well. Seem to be getting around 13 mpg if I drive the whole tank at 70 mph. A little better if I keep it 60-65 mph. I also have extra wind resistance with a kayak and roof box on top.
Still super happy with how I can literally move everything I own any distance pretty easily. Here's some pics

Yes Tacoma's are amazing. We tow a Suzuki Samurai behind our 2013. In Calif towing speed is 55 mph. Highway Patrol allows 5 mph over to 60. At that speed we get 14.5 mph fully loaded to 6200 pounds for a week in the desert, so a loaded box trailer (under 6500 pounds) is doing real well. Our gas is worse than yours (and more expensive) because its blended to cut down on smog.

Whenever we travel by car out of Calif our mileage increases - 3 4 mpg. So your rig in Calif with our gas would probably lower your gas mileage to 10-12 mpg.

Hope you had a fun trip. You have a nice looking rig. Happy future camping.
