When to start "squirreling" away spare parts? Rear Door Window trim?

I noticed my rear glass door was slipping down so I pulled the trim off. Yep. Dirt in there from years of off-raoding (dust, sand, water, etc.). This got me to thinking about the trim and replacing it. I'm not sure where you get the trim and if you can still get it (2001 Eagle FWC). As I started to clean it up I was worried if I somehow broke the plastic trim, how would I replace it and don't know if you can even still get it. Maybe it's a standard RV type window trim, maybe not.

Anyone know where you can get it and when do you start squirreling away spare parts on these older FWC's?

I replaced the door glass and trim twice on our old FWC. ATC guys were a great help on how to do it. Both are standard RV parts and available many places. Allied Trailer in Sacramento has them hanging on the display shelves.

If I remember correctly there are plastic tabs holding the glass in place that break off.I think I turned the frame upside down and the tabs on the top held the glass in place.A bead of silicone around the outside of glass and frame will ensure a perminent fix.I believe I did this 9 or 10 years ago.

That is a pretty common part.

We have them here in the FWC service department, ATC probably has them, or the salvage guys in Sacramento also bought a bunch of old doors from us, and they would have one.

Easy to switch those out, as long as you have an extra set of hand re-installing it.

Thanks for all the advice. Yes, there are plastic tabs on the windows and yes one of them broke. I like the idea of putting a block or something in there to help support the glass and will check with the place Stan recommended. It sounds as if the frame is pretty easy to find so I won't get one until I have to have it and since mines a bit faded and yellowing I'll just let it be.
