Wyoming Wildlife photography

Nice photos and report. The craziest things you see in Yellowstone are usually not the animals. haha.

Nice work with the 100-400. You got some beautiful wildlife shots.
Amazing how tourists can be so ignorant of the danger of these large animals.
One would think the tour companies would be aware of the liability and lock their passengers in the bus!

Amazing how some people are so ignorant about wildlife. While in Bella Coola this past fall shooting pics a fellow was mauled when he walked between a sow and her cubs. Not a wise path to take.

I get different responses from this image, but I insure you Mrs pvstoy is ok and we were in a group. The bears will move around you, but they are just interested in fishing and each other. This one caught a fish and wanted to get further away from a bigger male bear. There is always that one bear anytime any place that will just cause you grief, may that day never come.

"The bear would not hurt her because she was in a park  !" Another Darwin moment, but still enjoyed you photos and TR anyway. Maybe this is why I stay away from the "civilized " places as much as I can! :D The best one I remember was seeing a picture of someone trying to shove a bear into the front seat of a car next to this terrified old lady :ninja: -so they could get a picture of Grand Ma sitting next to bear in the front seat of their car-people never learn!

You get to see some interesting actions when out in the wild. This shot is from the Hayden Valley area at Yellowstone. I am near the road, with 700mm's of glass, but as I was shooting, I noticed several people in the point and shoot crowd walking down to photograph these two bulls. The old saying is that "God preserves fools and babes", and these people were not young. That leaves only the fool option. I missed the shot at the West Thumb, where a hip tourist almost found out what a bull elk is capable of.

The second shot is at Damon Point in Washington. I had set up at a respectful distance from this owl, just waiting for it to get active, when two dipwads walked right in front of me and set up. I suppose I should have said something about their respect, wildlife ethics and perhaps parentage, but figured that I would end up in jail, so I just moved on.

Three years in for me to. A lot of specialists on WTW.

Thanks.... I was ready to go today, but at last.... my term is not up yet :(

I did make last year as a transition period to allow them to get used to me not being there, 16 weeks off, what a great year! only 4 more weeks to take off this year.

Mrs. pvstoy has already claimed your slogan.

Patrick, have at it. I stole it from a guy in Death Valley.
Got us laughing. We wonder who it might have been, considering the folks we run with when visiting Saline Valley. ;)
