Year built in serial number of camper?

Does anyone know if serial numbers for four wheel campers include the year built?

Example, we are looking at a camper with a serial number like 407 -04g, but there is some confusion(between seller and manufactor information) as to whether it was built in 2004 or 2002.

It really doesn't matter and will not affect whether or not we purchase but we are curious?

Email it to 4WC and they can give you the details. I purchased what the seller thought was a 1997 Hawk, it fit my 2005 Tundra and should not if it was a 1997. 4WC told me date of manufacture was Oct 2002.

No clue, mine has the following on it 100560 and 20297-14... its a 99'.
