RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying and Selling Details

From reading DMV rules online, I agree with Paul. I don't display the plates I received, but I do carry them in the camper. I like the fact that the camper has a title. Having an MSO would be just as valid in my opinion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buying and Selling Details

In Oregon, the first FWC I bought, 1988 Fleet, I just received a bill of sale. When I sold it, I gave the buyer a new bill of sale and a copy of the previous bill of sale. I never did register this with the DMV. The buyer didn't seem to care. I didn't ask. The new 2016 Fleet I purchased, I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Antenna mounted to Jack mounts?

Yes! As a ham, I've mounted antennas to just about every part of a car, truck, camper, motorcycle and backpack. Some places will be more efficient than others. But the truth is, you all will be rather close to each other, efficiency isn't going to be a real issue. Focus more on a low SWR and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SOLD 1988 FWC Fleet for sale - Portland, OR $3000

Dry weight is around 650 pounds. The whytner fridge is pretty heavy. Maybe 50 pounds. With 10 gallons of water, that's another 83 pounds. The guy I bought this camper from had it on a 1st gen Tacoma 4x4, with a 4 cylinder motor.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermarest vs. memory foam?

I too use a Thermarest under the mattress. I also use a non slip cupboard liner so the Thermarest stays in place. https://amzn.com/B002AS9NAI The cab-over section of the camper can get noticeably cold. The extra insulation helps with keeping heat in and cold out. Also helps reduce moisture...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma inverter and Whynter Fridge

TakeItEasy, thanks for all your information! For the new camper, we'll have wired the camper to the truck to keep the house batteries charged while driving. And also keep the fridge running. I agree that the inverter is a nice to have. Not necessary for us, but sure make a few things easier. Todd.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toyota Tacoma inverter and Whynter Fridge

Follow up: Our last trip to Mt Rainier, I used the trucks on board inverter to power the fridge. Worked great! Every time I turned the truck off, though, the inverter would turn off. When I started the truck back up, I had to remember to turn the inverter back on. This is how Toyota built the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What's your favorite camp chair?

The wife and I have a pair of these from REI https://www.rei.com/product/898531/therm-a-rest-treo-chair Very lightweight and comfortable. The big problem with these, fyi, is setup and tear down. When I get to camp, I really just want to sit in a ready to go chair. These take a few minutes to...

hey Mark, I might consider talking with a local cabinet maker. I can't speak the price of hiring a local pro, but I'm sure the quality would be very good. There maybe a local RV or Coach building shop in your area. In Nashville, Phoenix, and just south of Portland, there are custom coach...
