RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane pressure regulator issue

Are you sure it's not the flow limiter in the bottle connection? Disconnect and reconnect the bottle and open the valve slowly.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another solar newbie

I put a solar fuse on the roof because I've had a problem with broken wiring behind the lift panel. I'm not sure if a short circuit there would be dangerous but fusing the circuit isn't a problem.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Furnace Issues - Atwood 8516-III (1997 FWC Hawk)

I would check the fan motor first of all. If the fan isn't running the sail switch won't activate which will keep the gas valve from opening and the igniter from sparking. You might also try to jumper the thermostat terminals at the control board.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Small inverter to charge laptops from inside the camper question

You need to be careful that the device on the 120v side of the inverter can accept the modified square wave that the cheaper inverters provide. Some electronics want a pure sine wave.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Heavy Wind Pop-UP Truck Camper

I love the sound of the rain and the wind buffeting the camper. I just lay there and think I could be doing this in a tent right now.

I'd be a backpacker if I could just find a decent freeze dried IPA.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Creek fire 135,000 acres

I've been following this one closely since I have several friends living in Shaver Lake and that area has some of the best 4x4 trails in the state. For those familiar with the area I just read that Cressman's Store at the top of the 4 lane has burned.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How much creaking and twisting is ok when jacking/loading?

I believe FWC only partially welded the frame to allow it to flex. I think my '06 is only welded on one side.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Skid plates Ford-F150 .. aluminum vs steel .. OEM vs aftermarket

I have no personal experience but have a friend who just installed steel and aluminum plates on his 2 Jeeps. The first install was steel and was a PITA to install because of the weight. The second Jeep got aluminum which was easier to install but had a tendency to grab the rocks instead of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 3 way fridge temps

It depends on what the outside ambient temperature is. Absorption fridges cool a certain number of degrees below ambient so on an extremely hot day your food may spoil or in cooler weather it may freeze. I lost my food on a 114* week in Moab and then had the fridge work fine when I got home...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sherman pass road

Craig Are you referring to to the paved Sherman Pass road or the 4x4 trail? I don't think the paved road is much different either way and would mostly depend on your itinerary. Low range would not be needed. If you're referring to the 4x4 trail the western end has a steep switchback climb that I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How much creaking and twisting is ok when jacking/loading?

The cracks I was referring to are in the siding above the door not in the door frame itself. Mine was only cracked on the right side and was caused by a failure in the internal framing. The first repair FWC performed was replacing a 1x2 and 1x1 tube at the top of the frame with three 1x1 tubes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How much creaking and twisting is ok when jacking/loading?

Your videos show cracking in the in the panel above the corners of the door. I had the same problem which was caused by a cracked frame. FWC fixed it twice under warranty and it came back after each repair. It is now cracked again and since the warranty has expired I'm just living with it. These...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Driving a FWC with roof in wedge mode?

While cleaning the truck/camper I moved from the driveway to the lawn with the top up and snagged the only tree in the yard. It's going to cost you over $2k to replace the fabric even if the tear is only toward the back.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerator Swap Question.

I think I had to remove the rear door to get the 3 way out when I put in the Truckfridge. I used NaturalAire cut to fit filter material on the vents to keep the bugs out.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Upgrading from 3 way Norcold...what to do with old gas line..and Truckfridge or Dometic or ?

I did this modification in my '06 Granby using the Truckfridge 130. I added 1" hard foam insulation to the top, bottom and back of the fridge. I don't think there was room to add any to the sides. If your camper has the IOTA converter there is no need the get the dual voltage fridge. 12v is all...
