I also use a HF trailer (bought it from some guy who put it together and never used it. was like new, except every bolt was loose including the axel to springs...) Put 3/4 inch plywood down and it works fine . I find the trailer the way to go since I can move it around w/ the truck or my car .

Taking 3skipin's advice and looking at her photos, I installed a 1/2" plexiglass (because that's what I had laying around here) plate under my fuel pax mount. You can see how the fuelpax wore off the paint of the camper....

My dogs (border collies) stay in the truck or camper. don't normally bark much. But i can't say never. its if a problem for you, I could camp down the road from you. I take them almost everywhere I go. Never had a problem.
