Hey All I am a happy to be a proud owner of a 2013 Grandby Shell.. Its pretty much set up to how I like it, has a furnace, benches already set up, solar. I would like to add an indoor cooktop. What are thoughts on the flush mount ones FWC is using? Any idea how easy or hard to install? Thx...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Side liner replacement "nuts and bolts".

Sounds like my install.. haha.. its not easy, but I think in the end you will be happy with it. Mine also does not always come down centered, I don't find it to be much of a problem, I just push it to center. I believe mine is due to the lifter struts, seems one side might just be a touch...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jack options 1995 Granby

FYI - I take mine off and on all the time as I need the truck for work.. you can get real efficient with it.. mine sits on harbor freight trailer and have it at a height so that I only have to jack it up a few inches to load..

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jack options 1995 Granby

I have an old Grandby and stripped it to the frame. There was zero support in the corner for the mounted type corner jacks. I use the big old cable jacks with the big platform (the kind that uses only one on each side and you find the balance point), however, I have 4 of them so I don't have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Side liner replacement "nuts and bolts".

mine was pneumatic.. you will be surprised how much you might end up using it.. that along with a cheap nail gun.. they get so much use around the house and rebuilding campers.. couldn't imagine life without them...haha

Lots of ways to do it, your idea seems solid, wish I would have thought of that.. haha I used a staple gun from harbor freight.. cheap and easy..

I used a synthetic trim piece that is white from home depot.. if you are ok with it not being wood.. works great, looks clean.. Found in the moulding section

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Side liner replacement "nuts and bolts".

The sideliner provides stability.. you have to fine a way to support the roof up without it or it will fall.. What I did... Placed very heavy item in middle of camper (big bucket of sand).. Tied rope to bucket and to each lift mechanism so that it could not fall over... simple..now.. I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Berts 1983 FWC Fleet, Total Rebuild

Now the fun begins! Our story -- we have a 2014 F150 super crew with 6.5 bed. Our first camper was a fleet that was 7.5 feet long, fit great, but with 2 dogs we felt a little cramped. I ended up finding the Grandby and its much wider in the floor, makes a huge difference. Seeing as you have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Berts 1983 FWC Fleet, Total Rebuild

Windows - If they open and close and work as they are supposed to, they are fine and I would reuse. When you put them back you use new Butyl Putty and they seal up nicely. I have never had any issues with re-using my old windows that a little caulk can't fix.. Trim - Seeing as I am very close...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk + 1/2 Ton Truck Owners...

I have a older grandby shell on a f150.. Airbags and upgraded shocks, E rated tires.. hardly notice its there.. If I were traveling in a fully loaded FWC, I do think I would want a 3/4 ton truck but I also need my truck for work and really don't want to be driving around in a 3/4 ton truck all...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Berts 1983 FWC Fleet, Total Rebuild

Agree with Tim on the bed.. make sure it is solid!! I also have had multiple versions of our bed area (this is the only downfall of the older camper IMO, not having the larger over cab area) I started with a slide out, but found it to be a pain.. I ended up making my bed foldable so that it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Hawk value

Whatever someone will pay.... Geographic location helps also it seems... Honestly, put it up for what you want to get and see how it goes. If you get no responses, your are too high.. if you get tons, you might be too low... Personally, when selling anything.. I start high unless I am...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to me 80's FWC Fleet

$3k is a solid budget to get it done.. I bought a fleet in about that condition this spring and redid the whole thing as a project to sell. I bought for 500, put 2500-3000 into it. I made money selling it (was it worth my time?? thats another question, but work was slow during early covid...
