Very nicely done, Rando. I faced the same problem with my aluminum ladder into my flatbed Grandby. But being basically lazy I just bought an extra set of those nesting orange levelors (can't remember what they are called) and slip 'em under the offending leg(s) as needed. Works very well!

On my 2018 Ram Chassis cab we're running the off-road 32"(?) factory tire and have a (heavily) loaded bed/tire gap of 4 1/2". Yep! And then there is that darned aluminum crossbox with 50 cubic feet of more space to fill up! I think my bigger problem is the front and rear axle weights- 4380# on the front (I don't have the diesel) and 6540# on the rear! Time to do some deleting and/or shifting!

I just did this modification to my drain to keep the rinse water from splashing down on the under bed box. (For travel I tuck the hose behind the rub rail. Soap lives in the cross box to the left.) However, I'd feel a lot better about using this valve daily for hand washing if it was sturdy...

I'm late to the party but lighter fluid (the type they used in cigarette lighters) will safely remove almost any residue.

Would this photo be of value, Craig? I've since sold the FB Hawk and moved into a 3500 Ram Chassis Cab with a FB Grandby but the back overhang isn't that great. (Still have the 2012 Rubicon... sadly with only 12,000 miles on the clock!)

We tried to do Idaho and specifically the Magruder Corridor last year. Beautiful country... they say. Sadly much of Idaho was blanketed with heavy smoke last summer so we finally bagged it and headed down to the 'monsoon country' of Northern Colorado. The takeaway? Check for forest fire...

I just took my bumpers off completely on my Flatbed Grandby. After all, if you are bolted down completely there is no need of them. Let me stick my aluminum crossbox in perfectly.

Albuquerque has been pretty brutal heat wise too lately. (Even in Durango it has been over 90 AND with heavy smoke throughout much of SW Colorado!) Best wishes!

I went that route on a previous Hawk. Whale faucets are terrible. including the pull out one. I just pulled my Whale faucet from my 2018 Hawk and installed a $39.95 standard metal kitchen faucet with a separate pullout from Home Depot. 10 times better.
