Even with that handle locked, the air moving across mine still lifted and broke the mechanism. The air dam fixed that.

You are correct, it’s not a FWC but I believe some with FWC’s have had the same problem. And this problem seems to be limited to front vents. There’s enough disruption of air moving across solar panels, air conditioners etc. that the rear vents are rarely affected.

In doing some additional research and talking with people who really understand aerodynamics, the consensus is that if the vent had been installed 6-12 inches or more further back, the air coming over the nose of the camper would not have affected the fan.

I had a similar issue in my Bundutec Odyssey. We had installed a new mattress and apparently, there is a bit of gassing off which was causing the alarm to go off. Only happens when the camper was closed up and eventually it stopped happening.

I had Alumline build me one for half the cost of a Norweld and significantly less than Sherptek.

I did it last year in a Ram 3500 flatbed. Some of the sections near Moab are narrow so you might get some pinstriping. Great trip - have fun.

Sure, normal expenses are deductible. But the oil and gas industry is heavily subsidized by being allowed to explore and drill on public lands at ridiculously low rates. No other industry has that distinct advantage.

I don't see why not. FWC have jack brackets. The only issue might be the flatbed - is there a good place to attach it.

If you already have the replacement, disregard. But if not, consider a MaxxFan instead. It should fit in the same 14x14 hole and once the base is sealed in, it’s just 4 screws to replace the actual fan.
