RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Quick mid-week trip to Death Valley

Going to make a quick trip to DV next week. One hour longer but going over 88 and down 395. The view is much better than Hwy 99. First time camping in DV, we do plan to drive Titus Canyon and just look around. No set schedule. Anything I should not miss? Send Pm to Skipin on Benton Hot...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sure Power 1314 versus 1315 Battery Separator

Guess I am too cheap. The surepower failed me when the camper batteries got low and would not reconnect. I went old school with a 12v solenoid and a switch to bypass it when I have my truck parked. This allows the solar to charge all the batteries when parked. Put the switch under the hood to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West batteries

My Tundra battery died last month also. My camper Batteries have 250w's of solar to keep them charged. Separator keeps the solar from charging the truck battery. I went old school on my separator after I had my camper batteries drop low enough one time where it would not reconnect. I added a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Issue

The separator is SPST* and should only control hot wire coming from the truck to the battery. I do not know how FWC wires the running lights. I have mine on a wired from the tail lights so the running lights come on when the truck lights are on. This is my running lights do not run off the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Issue

You may want to check if you have power at the lights. Use a long wire back to the battery's ground to be sure. You could have a ground wire broken. I am assuming you are using a VOM to check your circuits.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Camper Club

+100 I have been to 2 WTW Rallys. Meadow Lake and Carrizo Plain both were organized by members. I had a great time at both and met people I would not have met at just a FWC rally. I even visited with Sissi and Gunther who I met at Meadow Lake, at their home in Austria, they have an XPcamper...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DV Christmas Break 2017

Andy another fine report. I hope to get to DV early February. Will have to crawl under the 2005 Tundra and torque some bolts before I leave. I did change one front axle before one of my cross-country trips. Boot cracked and I did not like how the CV joint felt.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear door curtain location, 2014 Hawk

I put velcro above my read door inside the camper. roll down a curtain to match all the others the wife made. You can see part the wood and velcro in the picture below. The video shows how the curtain works. No need to cover the whole door, just the window.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

This and raise the tire pressure. I have a 2005 Tundra, E tires, and Hellwig sway bar. Run 70 psi on the tires and 40 psi and 45 psi on the bags, cabinet side higher. Running 40 psi on a tire rated for 80 psi will cause side wall flex and HEAT. Heat will cause tire failure. 10 ply tires will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Spigot Help

Not sure with the front dinette, but my Hawk shell has the propane tanks on that side of the door. There is a panel that can be unscrewed just inside the door. Allows access to a small area out outside of the propane box. Look and see if you have screws inside.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bobcat prototyping build

Great build. How do you like the seats? If comfortable they are cheaper and lighter than a set of the roll over brackets. Does the table fill the area between the seats if you wanted an extra place to sleep?
