RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding Water Tank Question-- Can I do it without a pump?

Gravity feed is great if you don't need to get the water up to a cabinet mounted sink, if did you would need to mount the tank high off the floor which will affect camper CG negatively. If you mount the tank low you could use a manual lever pump faucet which would keep things simple.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Superspring/ Helper spring owners ?s

I had super springs on my 1st gen Tundra with a Hawk. While they worked ok, if I ever had to do it again, I would go with new custom spring packs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB / Looking for a hawk or kestrel

There was a dealer in Denver when my daughter lived there, I think they are still carrying FWC. You might give them a call and let them know your in the market if they get a trade in.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x4 Under the camper alternatives?

I cut my front to back runners short to allow for a 2x2 that runs across the width of the truck bed to give it a more finished look. You could also add a piece of trim to the bottom of the camper that would hide the 2x4s.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Hawk solar

Mount the controller as close as possible to the batteries to avoid voltage drop and use appropriate wire size. You need a ventilated location that has easy access so you can monitor the controller if it has indicator LEDS or adjustable settings.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shell Owners- 12V fridge or nice ice cooler

I was enjoying a nice camp out years ago but had to leave a couple days early because we ran out of ice. I swore to not let that happen again. Although I have a 3way fridge now, using propane mostly and not the 12v, it still means I'm free from ice dependency. Camper came with a 3way but if I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrical Issue

Might be a poor connection with just a couple strands of wire making contact. Your volt meter doesn't draw much current(amps) but the lights do and you can't carry the higher amp load through a couple wire strands. Also be sure all plug contacts are tight and free of corrosion and dirt

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Am I out of luck with 1,200 lbs of payload?

I started with a 1/2 ton truck. You can do it on a 1/2. Beef up the rear suspension, including shocks D or E range tires. Keep you gear to a minimum and drive your vehicle with the extra load in mind.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck for approximately 20k

One word, persistence. Stay with it, took me 6+ months to locate a good clean 3/4 ton. Ended up with a 2012 F250 4x4 S/C, 40k miles for $22,000. The deals are out there but be ready to jump when you find it, they don't last long.If your going to finance get preapproved from your bank.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Firearms into Canada

I know that taking a handgun into Canada is next to impossible, so I would like to carry a either a rifle or shotgun. Can I carry a tactical model shotgun(18.5-20"barrel) or does it have to be a hunting type(longer barrel). Also is there a limited on the mag capacity? Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is there a broader market for a hard side pop-up

One advantage to the hard side pop up that appeals to me would be a reduction in condensation. I would make the shower optional,a modular design would let you replace it with a cabinet system or porti potty closet if the buyer did not want it. A cassette toilet as an intergral part of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Keystone Roof Help

My roof leaked when driving through heavy rain. The final fix was to reshape the front seal/weather strip. It had collapsed due to age, rubber was still pliable and not cracked. To reshape it I pulled a length of vacuum line into the hollow section. No more leaks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone add a extra grab handle ?

I always use the handle. Installed beefier screws and through bolted the upper. All you have to do is fall once or twice and you will always use some kind of hand hold(unless you a slow learner).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1st gen Tundra tell me about your shocks and suspension.

I started with a 2006 tundra and installed Bilstein 4600s in the rear with super springs overload leaf. If I had to do the springs over I would get new HD spring packs. The shocks work very well. I have a f250 now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 110V system, have it or not, use it or not

If you already have circuits set up with fuses its not worth the money to change to breakers. As mentioned just make up a small kit of replacement fuses.
