RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trailer was stolen the other day

Here's a picture of my first trip out with my 67 Alaskan this past summer. I took the camper off and rolled it in the garage at the beginning of winter but I have been using my trailer around the house and last Thursday I moved my daughter to college with it. As my wife and I were heading home...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Someone stole my trailer

Would I be able to use a flat trailer for my camper instead of getting another truck bed trailer? If I could use a flat trailer, how would I build up the sides on it or would I have to do that? Thanks,. Joe

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cleaning the upholstery question

Update on my seats. I'm going to bite the bullet and have them professionally done. I know of an upholster in KC that redone my seats in my classic. I'm going to take them to him because I know he does good work. I've got my girl stored in the garage but already thinking about camping.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electricity while off grid

I'm looking for a way to have power while boon-docking. I like to go solar, but with little of what I have to power up, I don't think it would be cost effective. What I'm trying to figure out is if I would install a 2nd battery under my truck hook and wire it up to my alternator, then that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electricity while off grid

I've been thinking of what it will take to live off grid in my NCO Alaskan camper. This is for emergencies only and I will not need any power for AC or heat. It will mostly be for charging electronics and 2 LED lights. I'm thinking of adding a 2nd battery under my truck hood and running power to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Getting stickers off?

I bought a 1967 Alaskan this past summer and as I was getting it cleaned up, I noticed a park sticker that the PO had put on it way back in 1972. I'm wanting to take it off but it is baked on really good. I'm afraid if I go scraping it off, I'll scratch the siding. Anyone have an idea or would I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice needed for Alaskan

I've never done one before but would hate to see a vintage classic be parted out. I'm not sure if you could replace the rot by gutting the interior or raising it up on a lift and tearing the bottom off from the outside and not having to gut it??? I have a small section that has wood rot but I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Curtains/Shades

Vic, I thought about doing that but I'm afraid that if I do that and they don't roll up then I'm stuck with them. I thinking that since Home Depot doesn't cut the length, that is the reason.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Curtains/Shades

The ones that came with mine were still in good shape but when I took them down and unrolled them on the sidewalk they wouldn't close up again (Roller shades). Home Depot has roller shades but they won't cut the length, only the width. So the side widows that are around 65" long only needs to go...

I'm needing to replace the shades in my camper and was wondering what do you all use? I'm thinking of going with roller Shades that was in there before and using blackout fabric. Thank you Joe

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cleaning the upholstery question

Reupholstering my seats are going to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $500. I sprayed them real good with Vinegar and water and let them dry the past two days in the sun. I'm praying this works!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pirelli install question

I spoke with Brain today and he gave me some great information and I want to pass it on. He said it's okay to run the gaskets up to 1/16" to each corner. I'm not sure why my old original gaskets were about 1" away from each corner as it left a huge gap. He also said to push the gaskets so they...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 1st trip

Took my camper out for the first time Friday-Saturday. She probably hasn't been camped in for years but it went very nice. I love the big windows in it. I took the old curtains out and haven't had time to get new ones and fell asleep looking up at the moon and stars.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AK Camper Factory visit Pirelli seal replacement

Very glad I found this thread. I posted a new one but this is an excellent thread. I just got in the mail 60 ft. of Pirelli for the inside of the trailer. I noticed the old Pirelli did not go to the four corners but the sides and ends all stopped about 1 inch from each corner. Shouldn't they go...
