I know I've read this several times before and even when I did a search I still couldn't find it but can someone tell me what type of wood was used in the interior (I think its Ash) and what color of stain was used? Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Upholstery questions

I've decided it's time to re-upholstery my dining table bench seats in my 64 NCO. I'm planning on doing this myself and was wanting to know if someone has any ideas on where to buy the foam and the pattern? I've found some online but I don't know which is a good company or not and would rather...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Alaskan Camper the restore start (slowly)

Wow! Sounds good, thanks for the pictures too. I've been wanting to build a dolly and I like how you did yours. I'm picking mine up tomorrow from my dad's farm (it's been in the barn) and wanting to get some work done on it as I'm going to be taking it out and living in it in a few months while...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pros/Cons Alaskan on trailer

I am in favor of using a trailer but I have no other choice. I have a 1/2 ton Chevy (I'll never buy another 1/2 ton) with a 6.5 ft bed (I'll never buy a short bed again) but my camper is 10 ft long. So I've been scowering craigslist and FB Marketplace to find one. I use my camper for when I go...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Using an utility trailer

My thoughts on hauling my Alaskan are constantly evovling. I'm thinking about getting a utility trailer (82"x16') to haul her in. I can use this trailer in a lot of other areas too, such as hauling my trucks and tractor in. I would appreciate your thoughts on how this will ride. Since it is 48"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Shed

I've got mine sitting on cinder blocks in my dad's barn. Evidently, I'm going to store it in our garage but I have to build a roll around cart first. I like how you have yours.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Using an utility trailer

Good points, thank you! Another question popped into my mind. I'm thinking that I should get a tandem axle trailer with the axles located more toward the middle of the trailer rather than towards the end of it? This, IMHO, will help balance the load. Is this correct or am I off on this one?

Thanks Russ, I think you're right, it shouldn't have any problems with it. It's an 8cy.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Using an utility trailer

One more question concerning the tandem axle trailer. Can a 1/2 ton pickup pull it okay? The trailer I'm looking at weighs around 1400lbs and you add the weight of the Alaskan at 1700 lbs plus gear and it will be around 3500lbs. I'm thinking it "should" pull it without problems. It's a 2011...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Attempt at ID

I think there are several different places to find your numbers. I had an 8' NCO and the year was engraved on the back plate of the camper. If you're facing the door, look down at the bottom on the left side and you may see it there. If I remember correctly, there will be 6-8 numbers. The 2nd...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Using an utility trailer

Thanks y'all! I read somewhere that tandem axle trailers ride better than single. I.e. won't have the swaying or bouncing going down the highway. Any truth to this? Stay safe! Joe

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Using an utility trailer

How does an Alaskan fit onto a flat bed trailer? I'm wanting to use a tandem axle utility trailer for my 10' NCO. This will be her permanent place on the trailer so no more taking it off/on. My question is with the width of utility trailers being wider than a pickup bed, how would I be able to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Can I get some quick advice?

I'm going to be removing my 64 10ft NCO and storing it in my dad's barn for a while. I'm wanting to store it on cinder blocks and would like to get you all's thoughts on this please. I'm thinking of placing blocks 3 high on all four corners and probably add 2 in the middle. Will this be safe and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I think I may be low on Hydraulic fluid?

Whenever I raise my camper it raises perfectly except for the last 2-4 inches. I don't feel any pressure on the pump as I'm pumping it. I'm thinking I'm low on fluid but not sure? Does anyone have any advice? If I'm low then what type of fluid do I need and where does it go? I pray that my pump...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Follow up on living in my camper

Thanks David. I've tried posting pictures but it's not working for me. I think I have to download a flash drive or something but I don't know why it has to be so difficult in posting a picture. I cleaned up my "Condo" today and it still has a beautiful shine to it. What do you all use to clean...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Follow up on living in my camper

I've been in my camper for over 2 weeks and the coldest it has gotten was -1 wind chill on one night. I don't raise my camper so its less room to heat and it helps with the "gap" issues I have. But my Mr. Buddy heater has done a fantastic job (along with my sleeping bag) in keeping me warm...
