RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Four Wheel vs Hallmark

And that was the deal breaker for me. My FWC is on full time and the truck is my daily driver, as such the rig must fit in my garage. The FWC just barely fits and the Hallmark wasn't even close with its taller cab over design.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet height-need to count inches

Depending upon the ceiling height of your garage your could raise your door header to fit an 8' garage door. That is what I had to do to fit my Hawk on a 3/4 ton into my garage....I just clear the vent by a couple inches. Not the cheapest option but in the the long run the best for me. My new...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Newbie need help with Mounting Hard side to Tacoma

I agree Bill....I didn't comment because I hated to rain on your parade Josh. Take another look at that CL photo. The center of gravity of that camper is behind the rear wheels and that will compound your handling problems. I think your Toy only has about 1,300 pounds of payload capacity and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Compressor refrigerator sound level

My two way Dometic frig doesn't bother me but if it did I would put in ear plugs. Also works good in WM parking lots, noisy campgrounds and yes.....motels!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tundra brake question

Ahh no....not my 3/4 Chevy. Excellent braking with my one ton load. Four wheel disc brakes and most importantly I am 600 pounds UNDER my max payload.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Finally got my Raven on order

Nice setup. Love the GMC, did you get the 6.2 Corvette engine option with the HD payload (2,200 pounds I think) package? I'm thinking about getting that truck to replace my wife's Tahoe.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Duracell LED flashlight pack

Mine too. Thanks to Costco's great return policy I brought all six of mine back and got a refund. They came out with an updated version awhile later and solved that initial problem. I have had nine of the second generation lights scattered around in vehicles, camper and house now for several...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Couldn't handle it any longer....

Good point....I never run my furnace while sleeping. The cycling of it off and on is annoying and is also a battery drain. I depend on a good down bag and a little Wild Turkey. On that trip I think the nighttime temps were in teens and twenties.

I had the same experience with Goo Be Gone.....Paint Be Gone immediately. On my 2012 Hawk Rustoleum Gloss White was a perfect match.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Couldn't handle it any longer....

X2 I have a Temperpedic memory foam mattress and pillows at home which are great. I made the mistake of taking the pillow on a late season hunting trip and that thing was no better than a using rock for a pillow.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carport/Shelter for Camper and Truck Storage

If possible, this is the best solution by far. I raised my 7' door to 8' and it just clears my Hawk and 3/4 ton Chevy. My crew cab was also too long to fit....no problem! Moved the whole front facade and door out 5" and cut a hole/window for the front of the truck into the back wall of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar suitcase exterior plug-in location. .?

My install was done by the FWC dealer here in Denver and I believe it is a Zamp Solar product. Using that outlet for a Battery Tender lead doesn't work on mine. When plugged in, I get a reverse polarity warning from the BT. I'm definitely no EE so I'll defer to others to explain that....works...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar suitcase exterior plug-in location. .?

Mine also is at the front of the passenger side....why? That is the shortest run to the batteries. I only have the Renology 100w suitcase and it has supplied all my power needs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma/Fleet vs Ford150/Hawk

Yes John, I would immediately upgrade that F150 to a 3/4 ton truck. Why spend money on upgrading a 1/2 ton? Load range E tires, air bags, different spring packs, sway bars, etc., etc. I see this over and over on this forum and I understand it if one already owns a 1/2 ton truck, but you're...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar and battery report

Ahh...guess I'm lazy and cheap. All I did is purchase a Renolgy 100w suitcase. It was around $250, fits nicely behind my roll over couch and is completely out of way. Been using it now for over three years and couldn't be happier. It has supplied all my power needs for up 8 days in elk camp...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best camper steps for dogs

No not awkward at all for humans. No problem with it sliding off the bumper it has a lip designed to rest flat on the step bumper and the lip has rubber gripping inserts with a sawtooth like pattern. The deck itself is grooved and has a rubberized texture to it....has a very secure feel to it...
