RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A little help

Thanks for the reply Vic. The little 1amp glass fuse did blow. I ended up rechecking the panel as the volts from the pv to mppt weren’t matching up. Turned out I could get the panel to show 24-25 volts but as soon as I plugged it back in to the camper they’d drop to 13. Ended up being the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A little help

Turned on the camper refrigerator yesterday and seemed like for a nice sunny day the batteries weren't charging. Solar panel was producing 0w and the BMV 712 was flashing charge. Plugged it in overnight. Found a blow inline fuse from the shunt and replaced it. Batteries were fully charged...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water Tank Doesn't Drain

Probably not the issue but I know on my camper with the valve installed at the factory, if I turn it too far to the drain side, it won't drain I have to turn it back the other way a bit and then it does, basically mine can be turned so far over it allows the drain hole to close again.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Future Hawk owner with a couple questions

I have a 2020 Hawk on a 2020 F250, the camper does interfere with the antenna, mine only has a single antenna. FM/AM radio works fine sateliite not so much, doesn't bother me though, I don't use the satellite radio. Four Wheel Camper charges $500 for that axe and shovel / mount, you can save...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is this 2017 FWC fleet worth the sellers firm price of $21,000?

Given today’s lead times alone people are willing to pay more than typical asking prices. I think it not having solar is better for you as the technology is improving so fast, 5 year old solar isn’t what it is today. I’d go lithium on batteries and have a reputable shop do the install unless...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

Appears it is. Was trying to figure out which “load output” setting to have it on, as best I can tell for my needs it would be “battery life”.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West MPPT Charge Controller Settings

Upon powering my victron MPPT 100/15, the load output setting is "battery life". Is this the ideal setting given I don't have anything plugged into the load receivers on the MPPT. Just running the two 6 volt AGMs off the 160 Watt Solar Panel.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Controller Problems

It does make me wonder. While it seems like Overland Solar is offering great customer service related to this issue and it could just be coincidence, figured I'd replace/install using the Victron brand and see what happens.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

Used a multimeter and tested my batteries, they are two 6 volts, both have correct voltage 6.45 and 6.43, voltage on the “battery” connections to the mppt is good 12.89. Checked the “PV” connections at the mppt 28 volts, tested the solar panel 28 volts. Checking victrons troubleshooting guide (I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Controller Problems

Any updates from the OP or crashmaster? My overland solar MPPT is likely having the same issue. Everything electric in the camper works but the MPPT doesn’t seem to be getting power. The leds aren’t on but the smart dongle I’ve got hooked up to it is flashing red/blue simultaneously indicating a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

Was looking at my overland solar 100/15 mppt it has a yellow and green light, neither are lit up or flashing. Thinking it’s the mppt, as the green light on =power, green light blinking = batterylife Yellow blinking fast = bulk, slow = absorption, on = float. Here’s a link to a picture of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

Hey Vic, it’s been hooked up for approximately 6 months, the dongle is plugged in to the MPPT (overland solar 100/15). The shunt I have is the one included when you buy the bmv-712. Batteries are 2 6 volt with the overland solar panel. All was installed by four wheel camper, I changed out the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

Found this which is somewhat similar, the 3rd screenshot is what my screen looks like no way to continue, which the reply states is a communication issue which my dongle is confirming by flashing red/blue simultaneously/slowly. Only thing I can try now is power on/off the mppt. Since all else...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron Smart Dongle not connecting

To be a little more clear, the Bluetooth dongle will show up in the app but doesn’t provide any data, it only display the product info for the device. On the list of devices where you select the dongle it doesn’t have the three dots next to it like the bmv 712 does.

Recently noticed my two 6 volt batteries weren’t getting a full charge when running on solar. Checked out my system, bmv 712 with the included shunt, both seem fine. The red and blue lights on the dongle both flash red slowly/simultaneously. Checked the victron site, it indicates a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Package Complete

If I'm going to be honest, I don't use them. I've extended them, didn't really notice much difference, I suppose the longer the trailer/boat/rv the better it gets to use them, my boat is 18' and I just manage with the mirrors not extended.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Hawk door questions

As far as the dent in the frame, I’ve hung a jacket above my door, closed the door and had a button get in between the aluminum lip and the door causing a dent just like that. I just pushed it back with my hands. Pretty easy to deform that piece.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing front dinette foot base/storage area.

It’s pretty rare that I sit at the dinette, usually just my girls. In stock form it’s 4 inches high, I’m going for 9” high full extension slide out drawer. If I get it sorted out, I may build another to go to the right of my sink and possibly one more inside the cabinet on the passenger side...
