RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The New Guy

I have a similar FWC and needed to space it up to clear the bedsides. I would like all who need to do this to consider just going to your local hardware store and buy the blue or green (your favorite color) of ridged insulation in the thickness needed (or combine to correct thickness). Don't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Project M Tailgate: How Do You Close Yours?

Look for a tailgate assist kit, as a lot of brand trucks have them. If that doesn't work for you, maybe ad a short dog leash type pull strap on some of the existing fasteners.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rut roh, truck bed cracking at tie downs

You can't effectively secure loads to sheet metal, and when you continue to tighten the binders, you just bend the metal more. You need to attach to the frame like on Stan's recommendation.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ram 1500

A properly ordered RAM will have factory air ride suspension that will adjust to any legal (and beyond) load and keep the truck level and safe without aftermarket junk scabbed in. It sounds like a lot of people add air bags to F150, it would be the same for a RAM 1500 if you don't like the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Noise While Sleeping

I find if it is hot, the roof fan is good for white noise or you can buy a battery op white noise generator so it sounds like rain or static or whatever you want.

I would check with FWC before you remove it, to me it looks like part of the support against fore aft movement.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My 2009 Hawk needs some love: best battery?

Are there any post that cover this topic so the old school campers can understand better on what advantages/disadvantages are involved with changing from lead-acid to ? My battery is getting kind of weak...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wire From Truck Upgrade

6awg is good for 50 amps up to 15' in length. I believe when you list your batteries ah, that is amp hour, which is a general spec to compare to other batteries and that your battery can put out 100 amps for an hour (but in reality it may not be able to actually do that). What in your camper...

Last resort, can you run a smaller line through inside of the old one to bridge the concealed area?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Awning Ready?

What would be the negative of just direct bolting of the ARB to the side of the camper? If your particular camper had to have the latch moved, you could fill the holes with caulk or silicon and it would be covered by the awning.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar wiring size!

If the specs you listed state 15 amp fuse max, wouldn't at 10 amp be more realistic? And 30 or 40 amp is out of the ballpark

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk on Tundra Help!

You have 4 choices,1.make camper narrower (sand plane or reconstruct),2. cut out the part of the bed that is too narrow then have reinforced and repainted and make sure wheel wells are not going to be a problem, 3.buy a flatbed for the truck (you could sell your bed and recoup some of the cost...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding pump to sink

Get a test light and connect it to the wires you state are by the faucet, then turn the panel switch on and off to see if you get power at those wires. I have an Eagle, it has the electric pump and also a hand pump at the faucet. If you don't put the hand pump lever all the way down, the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting things on exterior of FWC

And if you did it, how long ago and how has it held up? Any cracks forming? Do you go off-road? I think the best is to use the receiver hitch accessories since they mount to the frame of the truck. I was even going to install one on the front.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West House charge from truck

If your house battery is not dead, the truck will bring the voltage up to 14.2 +- at idle if you have it wired correctly. Just put a volt meter on the battery terminals and read it.
