RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Northern Nevada/Highway 50 - JUNE

Highway 317 heads up north through a picturesque canyon alongside the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. We stopped next to a railroad bridge built in 1901 still in use for lunch. Turkey was not on the menu but we still enjoyed one wandering through. More to follow

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Northern Nevada/Highway 50 - JUNE

I've been itching to get away from SOCAL for the past couple of months. My initial plan was head towards the Eastern Sierras and the wife wanted to visit the Tahoe area. After reading a couple of blogs and since school just got out I decided to revisit the Great Basin region of Nevada and avoid...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Alarm

My propane alarm goes off every week concurrently with the IOTA charge controller shifting from float (13.5 V) to bulk (14.5V). Irritating, Same alarm occurs when my solar charger shifts from float to bulk. I suspect that is the reason for many of our false alarms.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Speaking of freezing....

I experienced a cracked PEX fitting a couple of years ago on my 2013 FLEET. WWW post with pics. http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/12043-pex-piping-repair/ I ended up repairing it myself using SHARKBITE fittings which I now carry a spare and some extra PEX pipe. I had been camping at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fleet pop-up inside shower curtain leaks

I have a 2013 Fleet with the inside shower. Use the inside shower daily. I sprayed the curtain with water repellent and put silicon in all the joints on the water pan. Some moisture still gets through but I wipe it up right after and to date it works great with no damage to cabinets. I like the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Memorial weekend?

Yes, the hordes where out this weekend. Left San Diego last Tuesday to explore Humboldt Toyiabe NF north of Tonopah. SKI3PIN's postings inspired me to check this area out and I was not disappointed. I spent 3 days in the area and plan to return in September to hike Arc Dome and the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar eclipse in 2017, mid-morning August 21, plan for it now

Happy to join up with WTWs in Eastern Oregon. Had planned to observe eclipse in Grose Ventre east of Tetons but read that Jackson Hole is expecting 50k+ people more than normal. Madness. According to several 2017 eclipse sites eastern Oregon is prime area for several reasons. Weather, remote...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Navy wants to quadruple land for training in Nevada

As a Navy Vet I take your post as implying the "NAVY," not "navel," are not good stewards of our public land as misinformed. My experience and history show the NAVY spends a significant amount of $ on environmental protection versus the destructive practice of ranching or other development...

Had the same problem occur. Driving across Nevada in 100+ heat I suspect made it loose and stretch. I removed the screw on the end and pulled it tight. Reset the screw. I also applied clear silicon to the strip to keep it in place. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West
