I, too, am looking for awnings. want light weight and easy to setup. I think that a home made (non blue!) tarp with attachments to the camper and support poles would work just fine. Cheap, easy, replaceable. Also, looking for an awning for the rear. Hate to have the door open and get wet...

WOW! That is amazing. Would it be wise to perhaps mount this thing in the middle layer, with a nice wide washer to make sure it has a more firm base. Seems like the weak point is the wood. This makes me a little scared! Does anyone else experience these types of blowouts? dave

Marty, THe home depot idea is great. I would assume the door is thick enough to support any deadbolt. How about the strike plate and the frame, is it hard to put a hole for the bolt? Obviously, cannot use a wood chisel!! I would assume i would have to place it just above the existing lock...
