RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan retrofit

Dome or Flat Wondering if besides clearance there is any advantage to the dome v. the flat cover. Planning to make the upgrade soon for spring trip to Utah, Death Valley last year was a cooker. I currently have a white dome with no fan on my vent. Thanks for any thoughts.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Tank Connection

I agree with Cabezon, The weak point of a system is usually the connections. Connecting and disconnecting is going to invite wear and dirt to coupling. Keeping it connected also minimizes the rattle on the road. I leave mine connected all the time with out problems, I leave the camper on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is anyone out there?

My in-laws had a Sportsmobile ( I still really like those rigs) and decided it was to expensive so they sold it and bought a pickup. They were looking for a used FWC and I found a Hawk for sale on the side of the road while driving around town. They bought it that night. Later they upgraded and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Trickle Charger help

I use the Battery tender plus 12V, 1.25A at home. I have a quick connect pig tail on my Motorcycle and one on the aux camper battery, this avoids having to directly access the batteries. I originally bought it after a dead motorcycle and use it to maintain the bike and top off the camper prior...

Nice coverage, I came really close to buying one but the money went to a shady boy for the side and I built my own off the back. http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=534 The one thing I didn't like was that you had to guy line it out. I just like to keep stuff off the ground...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Revisiting Electrical Questions!

Arggg! makes my head hurt. I just tried to put a Surepower isolator in my 99 GMC. Their instructions call for a special wiring harness to get around the Delphi sensor. I had already bought the isolator and could not for the life of me find the harness sold seperatly. So I returned it...

DLN, Thanks, I did read the post about using plexi. I'll probably do that. The replacement ones at the RV shop are really flimsy. They even warned me not to buy it:D Erod, They white cover vent are dirt cheap if that is what you want to stick with.

Erod, For clarification, it looks like you need a new strike plate not an entire jam. At least that is what I need, I'm going to run by my RV place tomorrow.

That anderson connector looks nice. I have the 2 prong marineco from my truck to the camper and end up taping it just to make sure it doesn't come apart.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electric vs manual water pump

Running a manual with no problems. You get a good amount with each pump. Helps with water and battery conservation. But hey, I like the manual windows on my commuter.

Hey my jam looks exactly the same. I also need to find a new one. The light and vent cap are pretty standard from a RV shop. You can buy just the covers. I just wired in an deep cycle battery 3 days on my Hawk, but I already had a harness from the battery to the back. Good luck.

Brian, It belongs to our friend Linus. He has another old Land Rover in pieces and just sold a nice International Travelall(see below). It's pretty cool to have both next to each other while camping. Passer-bys always takes a few extra looks at our camp. And just so this thread isn't...

I agree with Coop. I have had all sorts of issues with silicon. Biggest downfall I've had is it not sticking to what you want then not cleaning off of everything else. I can be extremely difficult to work with. Mike
