Neither White Sands or the Bosque are truck camper friendly. How many miles are you willing to drive from a campground to each destination? San Antonio has an RV park, but it isn't scenic - just convenient to the Bosque. There is a lot of BLM land nearby, but I haven't camped around there, so...

Unfortunately, the wires shorting behind the lift panel are a likely cause... It isn't that hard to repair them, though.
