We're on track for a record setting dry spell in NM. Where I live, there's still some patchy snow on north facing slopes, but there isn't much water there, and the south facing slopes are pretty dry, with trees that already look stressed. There's a fire weather advisory out today for parts of NM...

Yep, I hear you, Smoke. I certainly wouldn't leave anything valuable out. If someone steals my old, cheap camp chair, they deserve it. I also have a "Campsite Occupied" sign that I would put in a noticeable place. It used to be you could leave your gear in your tent and go off for a hike...

I wonder if our campers are a factor here? If you keep a clean campsite, there will be an empty tent site and table, which would be tempting to the rude / clueless. Anyone with half a brain ought to recognize the site is occupied, but that's not all of the population. Maybe it is good to keep...

This is the normal time of year to be hiring and training seasonals here in the southwest. I wonder if two regions hiring at the same time will cause any personnel shortages?

In that case, I guess I'd get the host to mediate, or at least be a witness. If it was a little after 10, the host should still be available.

Geez. I hope I would do something similar to Bill. If they stayed quiet and left in the morning, I wouldn't turn them in. If they were jerks, I'd report them. Was there a campground host? Noise in campgrounds is one of my pet peeves. It shows a real lack of courtesy to everyone around them.

It's not the same as all-over aluminum skin, but my '99 Ford Ranger has an aluminum hood, and it has held up just fine. Ford has played with aluminum off and on through the years on the Rangers to shave weight. If they can shave weight to add to the payload capacity, I think it's a smart move.

I don't have struts yet, but I will eventually add them. The reason being they can help lower the roof safely when it has snowed overnight.

I like it. I wonder where the engine is, and what kind of engine it has?

Ski, when I was working at the observatory we had a problem reporting system that had a "weather" category. No one was responsible for the weather PRs, but if we got frustrated, we could file a complaint to make us feel better. Unless something changes soon, it's going to be a scary fire...
