RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting FWC hawk on in bed storage drawers.

I think I used treated 2x6 for the framework plus a sheet of 3/4 ply for the bottom. Like Rando says, the drawers need plenty of vertical height to be useful. I had to raise my camper up about 4" to clear my side rails anyway so there was a net height gain of maybe 2 - 2 1/2 inches. In your case...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting FWC hawk on in bed storage drawers.

I had to build a platform to clear the side rails on a previous Hawk I owned and decided to build in a drawer. Not sure if this is what you're asking about.

Thanks for another great set of TRs. I admire your get-out-ed-ness!! It's always amazes me to see mud on those canyon walls 30 feet above. Makes a person think about getting caught up in even a small flood coming down those narrows!!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Should Trip Reports be a thing of the past ?

I enjoy reading trip reports and have visited some places because of them. Sometimes I wish that there was more specific information on locations but at the same time I'm glad that there isn't. It's better to make each adventure your own rather than try to follow someone else's path.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Trip to Texas, what to see along the way?

Wife and I did the loop around Capitan. Lincoln, and paid respects to Smokey the Bear. After a night near Roswell and a visit to the museum we drove to Carlsbad Caverns. As luck would have it the elevator wasn't working and only had 2 hours to walk down and back up before closing time. Pic near...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Trip to Texas, what to see along the way?

Pima Air & Space Museum and Kartchner Caverns are on the same path as Tombstone. My sister lives in Bisbee so I always include it in my So Arizona trips. Chiricahua's are one of my favorite places and there's also Cochise Stronghold across the valley in the Dragoon's. If you're a rockhound you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Covid Vaccine -- Have you got yours?

I just got my 1st shot yesterday. I had to drive 2 counties away from home, but I'm not waiting on Kaiser. My daughter told me every person at her firehouse was down for 3-4 days with fever after their 2nd shot. I'm not looking forward to that but at least I won't be worried if I got Covid or not.

We've got several Oaks along with Acorn Woodpeckers. They can be quite destructive pecking on our log home. The RBSS are really tame and I love their whimsical calls. I handheld my iphone up to my spotting scope to take the picture. It took about 10 tries to get a decent image. I have a...

If you decide on a Tundra I'm in the V8 camp. With a Tundra you can get the ATC Panther which is 84" wide. I have a Panther shell on my '19 Tundra. I also had it built with the 2" higher panels. Like you, I didn't want the pull out bed because it gets in the way of the side dinette I added. My...

As long as you can stop I wouldn't be concerned. Pick up a 1/2 yard of sand or pea gravel which is approximately 1,000 lbs and see how your truck drives and stops on roads you're most likely to be traveling on.
