Have only visited the Tucson area once but a close by hit is Madera Canyon/Mt. Wrightson Wilderness. Less than an hour from Tucson, south towards Mexico. Great little campground with some lovely mountain and canyon hikes, feels much more remote than it actually is for sure.

I have an older camper (85 Palomino) on a newer Tacoma also. I needed an additional 1"+ of height to just clear my cab roof. Since I take my camper on and off frequently I went for a sheet of 1 1/8" plywood cut to closely follow the shape of the bed so it moves very little. I also worried about...

Nice shots Lighthawk. Those dusk shots looking out of Mono Lake are really sweet. I think I could see the 3rd Pillar of Dana peeking out above the middle distance in your Dana plateau shot. Been on my list for years also. Cheers - Craggy

Yea, some of us "others" are out there. So, I will start this off with a question for fellow Palomino owners or just owners of older pop-top campers in general. How do you repair the old vinyl windows/screening? And YES I already am a strong advocate of Duct tape :) but hoping for a more elegant...

The foil faced foam board has always seemed superior to me for insulation/reflective properties. If you put a thin piece of tempered masonite board over the foam (maybe 1/4"), should do the trick for spreading "point loads"... ;)

Just my usual paranoia of hand tightened mechanical connections but I would definitely be rechecking the 4 attachment points quite frequently once you start going off road. Hate to see those nice Chinese panels go sailing. My $.02 and thanks again for the website updates. Cheers - Craggy
