Yeah, we do live in coffee country. Deb loves coffee. My dad said beer was an acquired taste. He said he acquired the taste for cheap beer.

So it is all about the oils that boils? I've never understood coffee culture. That stuff tastes like rotgut!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck camper and tire rotation

Ah, I see that Toyota recommends keeping tires on the same side (front to back only). We have BF Goodrich KO2 tires, and (at least Canadian) Goodrich recommends crossing, but states: "However, check your owner's manual to see if there is a recommended rotation scheme." We do put a lot of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck camper and tire rotation

I hope this isn’t a controversial topic, as I see it is on truck fora. For our heavy-on-rear truck campers, how do you rotate tires? I’m stuck in decades old paradigm of swapping front and rear on the same side. Finally looked into it, better late then never, and discover diagonal methods are...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West There is no planet B

I’m also conflicted about my own contributions due to desires to wander about in truck and camper. I’ve had the same conflicts.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Winter Watch

Hmmm. I worked for PG&E (Pacific Graft and Extortion?!) from '79-'82 as my first job out of college. The project was supposed to cost $700 million, but somehow (don't ask), it took a bunch of extra years and ballooned to $5 billion. My numbers are probably off, but are ballpark.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Supertramp Camper

There's many things I like about this camper. Many things look really well thought out. The mounting system is more compact than FWC and ATC, enabling a wider inside space. I wonder if the aft attachment will fatigue because it's a flat plate that looks like it could take some bending... but...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Supertramp Camper

I'm curious -- what changes would you make? I've had some wonderful quality time in our camper, in our garage lately trying to set it up for a lithium battery. A half hour ago I managed to touch two wires together and... SPARKS! Yikes.

Following professional bike racing, I wondered what Ineos Grenadiers were, but never looked it up. Their team is quite successful.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The 70th Birthday Adventure - November 2022

I wonder these things also. I think the climate was a bit different. Some of the petroglyphs has atlatls depicted. My understanding is atlatls became obsolete 1500 years ago when the bow was introduced in the region. But no matter what life could not have been easy. Ski3pins, thanks for the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The 70th Birthday Adventure - November 2022

Those are quite amazing trip reports, Mr. Ski3pin and The Lady 3pin. It was quite an experience to use the InReach device for its intended purpose. Since we had great sky coverage, the communication was fast. I'm glad we had the phone app, which made typing messages a lot easier and faster. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overloaded

Yes, it's not just how much weight is in the truck bed, but where the weight is (i.e., where the center of gravity is). Too much weight behind the axle will pivot about that axle and lift the front. I didn't see that mentioned in the article. I'm glad I've never done anything stupid before. The...

We use shore power quite a bit, to top off the battery every month and to charge the battery and cool the fridge the morning of a trip. I wrote to Iota and got information on the internal DLS30/IQ4. They sent a PDF of their manual "IQ4 Charge Controller for DLS". It backs up the information in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Here is how to prevent getting locked out of camper

Thanks for this thread -- I removed the wimpy deadbolt in our camper today. I noticed the assembly was loose on the door too. Rattling down washboard can loosen teeth, let alone screws. Good to walk around with a screwdriver from time to time.
