I saw on All Terrain Camper's Facebook page that this rig was stolen from the Hayward, CA, area on January 29th or 30th. If anyone sees it rolling around, contact the police and you can also contact the owner (Jeremy Gibbons) via the ATC Facebook page.
I finally got the time to read about your latest DV adventure and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a great place to spend New Year's eve/day. I'll have to check out the Digonnets "Hiking Death Valley" book you mentioned and find some of those interesting hikes that are off the beaten path.
I...
I like the Quick Fist that dsrtrat mentions above. Why spend a ton of money on an expensive bracket to secure a $10.00 shovel? Personally, I carry a military surplus trenching tool that folds up nicely, is light and was inexpensive.
Very sorry to hear about your ordeal. They should be able to find the pricks now that they'll have a lot more evidence from the recovery scene. I wish you the best of luck.
Beautiful photography and what awesome campsites you had. Just one thing was missing... I sure would have loved to see a pic of that Navajo taco you enjoyed. It made me hungry for home just reading about it.
Thanks for sharing.
I loved your TR and photographs. I especially liked the photos of the "Elvis crowd" at Saline Valley. I totally agree with getting the spare fixed before continuing on in that part of the world--even if it meant a lot more driving.
Thanks for sharing with us.
So Ski, can we expect a Trip Report of the "recent adventure?" I hope so because that looks like Death Valley and I'm planning to go there in Feb. or Mar.
I have an ATC Bobcat on a Tacoma, which I think is kind of between the Fleet and the Eagle in width and if I were you, I'd be looking at the Fleet. The Fleet's only a little wider than the Eagle, but in these small campers, every cubic inch can become precious. I think the Eagle looks better...
Very nice TR at one of my favorite places; thanks for sharing. Those chock stones reminded me of the movie 127 hours--I'm glad to hear you made it out with both of your arms.
Sorry, I didn't mean to pass along a site with pop ups or problems. I didn't get any suspicious warnings when I clicked on it, but maybe my McAfee blocked them for me.

I stumbled onto the "Hot Water Slaughter" website while surfing the net and it really is a very good source for hot springs in the west. There were a ton of springs I had never heard of and I have several books on western hot springs.
Give it a look-see; I'm bookmarking it...
The Sierra (Carson Range) is a rumblin tonight around Reno. Per the Cal Tech earthquake site, we've had 13 quakes between 10:18 pm and 11:20 pm, the biggest one registered an attention getting 4.4 magnitude. What's to come???

This is fitting for the "You Know You're a Geezer When" thread. When I used to make this mistake, my starter would growl a horrible screetch, but my Tacoma has some sort of anti-geezer override to prevent damage I guess.
