Tie down system for ford f150

Probably not the $200.00 solution, but I'd guess it's less than the torklift system: http://happijac.com/tie-downs.html Another approach from a company that's been at it a long time: http://www.crbrophy.com/tdhd.html Keeping a lookout on Craigslist may get you into any of the 3 thus...

1983 FWC Blazer Model on a First Gen Blazer

They "Chalets" were built for GM by Chinook RV. A little bit about them here: https://www.tincantourists.com/wiki/doku.php?id=chinook#chinook_reviews_profiled_in_trade_magazines Scroll down in the article. The Chalet stuff is in a way.

    HP India Scam

I suppose one advantage of living a fairly unconnected life is I rarely get cold call sales pitches or scam calls any more. When I do/did, I just hang up. It's pretty hard to engage and hustle someone if no one is on the other end of the line. Works well for obscene and crank callers too.

    Buying and Selling Details

Fellow Oregonian here, fellow FWC owner. I purchased used, received a bill of sale, the bill of sale from the owner that preceded the owner I purchased from and a signed copy of the Craigslist ad for my camper. Never have registered it, never been questioned about it, all my insurance asked...

    Battery Charge/Maintenance

I use the Genius: I should also mention they make bigger, i.e. More amperage than than mine too. It works well none the less.

    Campfire permit time

Camp responsibly! Get your permit. Unless you camp in Oregon or Washington, or almost anywhere else. No campfire permit is required. Actually, thanks for sharing. I've worked in California several times over the years and had absolutely no idea they had a recreational camp fire permit that...

    Kick'in the Habit

My Dad fought with smoking, or rather quitting on and off for all of his middle years. Finally quit when he started showing symptoms of COPD. What I think helped him frankly was the sheer will of not wanting to get sick, knowing he would if he didn't quit, and a bit of faith. That and my...

Helicopter Avalanche Control Work, Telluride, CO

Always liked the general party atmosphere of inter mountain Colorado. Cool place Telluride. Unfortunately I don't have enough self discipline to live there. Thanks for sharing!

Plan to sell off public land

These proposals kinda end up looking like this: http://www.oregonlive.com/environment/index.ssf/2016/11/elliott_state_forest_timber_co.html If you truly value the public domain, (In general, the link above aside), as we know it I suggest the following: 1- Stay informed. 2- Contact your...

Suggestions for matching camper with my intended use

If you're still tuning in, allow me to share. I own a Grandby and grew up around an Alaskan, my grandfathers 8' cabover to be exact. They are both good campers, very long lived in the industry, and either will certainly cover your intended missions. You have received a lot of advice thus far...

HOW MANY NIGHTS DID YOU CAMP IN 2016?

I'm between 20 and 30, so I'll claim the median at 25. Like others here I still work, a formidable barrier to answering my true calling. The calling being to screw off full time. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

    comfortable winter camping?

Keep in mind the only parts of an FWC not insulated are the floor pack and the soft liner. Recent traffic on some other forums talk about the no insulation in FWC's is largely incorrect. The walls and roof in mine is batten style insulated, but my Grandby is an old one. It's not a lot but it...

Looking for a mid 80's Fleet Door and Window

Both FWC and ATC can get you a framed door with screen door included. I got one for my 80's Grandby from ATC. Don't remember the price, but it was significantly more than $99.95. If you are not concerned about it being an exact match, an Internet search may turn up a local RV salvage yard or...

Nor Cold 300 3 way vs ARB 50qt

I have the old Dometic 3way. my experience is as mentioned, it runs a long time on a 20lb bottle and running it on 12 volt other than when driving will suck up all the juice quick. That said, when it dies I'm looking at the 12 volt DC compressor fridges. All the ARB fridges I'm familiar with...

Strange pump pressure issue in FWC Hawk

As W. Sagebrush and Beach said, you either have a plug or a kink if you have any soft plumbing. You say both hot and cold dribbling at the faucet suggests to me a plugged aerator. Certainly a place to start. Sent from my iPad using Wander The West
