If flame is blowing out while driving and the cooling is not up to par on your fridge, it sounds like you may need to give the burner a cleaning (or replacement). You should also clean the flue while you're at it.

Are you sure they aren't swamp coolers? Air conditioners require a lot of power. Even the small camper ones (8,000 btu) would still pull around 1,500 watt. To get proper cooling in a camper, you'll need a generator to power them.

Well I went and just used my voltmeter to test the plug pins and see if it directly connected to the house battery. I did not get any volt reading, which makes me think there may be an isolator, or some other device inline between the plug and battery. I guess I'll just buy the receptacle...
