RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Hawk

I ordered my Hawk with the roll over couch and the silly table on a pedestal. After trying to live with that set up.....we decided that it needed to be changed to the Dinette. Four Wheel Campers had just come out with the Dinette set up and it wasn't available when I ordered my camper. With...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need to hear a good new joke

An old and blind cowboy wanders into an all-girl biker bar by mistake. He finds his way to a bar stool and orders a shot of Jack Daniels. After sitting there for a while, he yells to the bartender. Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke? The bar immediately falls absolutely silent. In a very deep...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Fridge Died

Hola, Thanks you everyone for your input. Sounds like I'm sold on the 12v route. Like I said in my first post, I'm all set up in the solar dept. and based on what others have, I'm good to go. I also carry a Honda eu2000 generator as well. 100% of my camping is done in Baja. Sun is definitely...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Fridge Died

Thanks for the past thread. It was very helpful. I like the fact that it fits right in the slot as if it were meant to be there. Now that you have had this unit for a while, have you done any R&D on it regarding HOT weather and rough bumpy roads? If so, please elaborate. Also, has your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My Fridge Died

Definately get a new dc fridge. It's cheaper than the kit. I replaced my 3-way with a 12 dc fridge and couldn't be happier. Here's the link to my install: http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5437/

Looks good Craig, Now all you need is that Warn 12000lb winch and you'll be all set. Might just as well go for the Warn 16,500 lb. winch.

Here's a few shots from the Colorado Rockies. Just finished a 6-week trip there. Here's a couple of pics of camp on the first day and the last....the leaves were changing colors fast at the end of my trip.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Arctic Fox 990/GMC 3500 Dually For Sale or Trade

You might want to consider at least a 3/4 ton (non dually) truck for your pop up camper. Mine handles the camper much better than the 1/2 ton did.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I'm pulling the trigger on a titan winch, group buy FYI.

One thing to consider is that right now your rollers are virgin. If you use synthetic cable first, they will stay that way. Then later if you want to go to steel....no problem. If you use steel cable first.....they will leave a "signature" in the rollers....rough spots where the pulls became...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I'm pulling the trigger on a titan winch, group buy FYI.

However I'm going to go with traditional steel cable (I'll only be an occasional user and I think steel cable when kept oiled up will likely last longer for occasional usage and exposure to elements) and that combo is $400 if you email him about it. I have had a winch on my vehicles since I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West air conditioner?

My Honda 1000 runs for 5-6 hours on a refill (tank capacity is 0.61 gal). YMMV depending on your electrical usage. Honda makes an extended tank that attaches to the generator that will allow all night runtime. There are many out there...here is just one example...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West air conditioner?

Does anyone have a picture of how the camper connects to a generator to run the ac unit. Stan mentioned that a honda 1000 would run the ac unit, is there an adapter that plugs into the generator? Plug an extension cord into the Honda 1000/2000, plug the other end in the campers 120 volt...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West need help with thermostat

I sent to your email as well....here's the scoop. Hunter Model 44155c purchased from Wally World for approximately $20. Two wires from the camper, one blue and one white. There is a jumper wire (red; but color doesn't matter....it's just a jumper) between "RC" and "RH". The white camper wire...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Battery Not Charging

Your problem might be the Sure Power 1314 used in the 2010 Hawks. That is what was in mine and it's a 2010. It is located behind the panel located under the thermosat as in this picture. The panel is behind the cushion. Here is a picture with the panel removed. The Sure Power 1314 unit is...
