    Which rear shocks for Tundra?

I run Icon remote reservoir 2.0 custom valved for constant load in my Tacoma, but then I do at least 100+ days a year off road so overkill is cheap. I also run a custom progressive leaf pack and air bag cradles for max droop.

    Frig tempertures

My CR1065 has been fine for a number of years...but it is fully insulated, as in every space for air around the cabinet filled with multiple layers of Reflectix and sealed over with aluminum tape....bomber. The one area that does not have insulation is around the coil and fan, that is open to...

    Death Valley - Thanksgiving 2014

I'm pretty sure I saw your rig coming over one of the passes while I was on my way out, I spent two weeks there creating new work for a show, had a great time overall but busted up the truck pretty good on Racetrack Road. I am home now but the rig is in the shop for a suspected bad wheel...

    Opened Turnbuckles

I just got done dealing with some “Death Valley” goodness my self that I earned fairly, 50MPH on Racetrack Road and hitting a hole that was in shadow….oops. I busted the front left elevator bolt, egg shelled the bearing cup in a billet upper control arm and ripped an ABS break sensor cable apart...

    ATC Bobcat after one year...

So I am in week three of a month long trip, did two weeks in Death Valley, shot a ton of 4x5 black and white, likely some good stuff in there.....if I can keep my rear in one piece. The carnage: I was "Maching at a leisurely pace" as I like to call it down the Racetrack Playa road, about...

    Is solar worth it?

Solar worth it...? I would say so, been on the road for a few weeks now, spent two weeks in Death Valley, 4 days and nights at the Racetrack Playa without starting the truck. Here is my rig in max solar harvest mode. During the day, I point the 40W panel on the air dam at the noon sun position...

    ATC Bobcat after one year...

Got mine on ebay for $22, I did part of the underside too, mostly to protect the wood since I live in a harsh climate. But yeah...it looks rather slick in having no wood showing, all industrial like...they even cut it for me.

Stolen Eagle Model in Sacramento last Friday

Yeah, I have my heavily modified Tacoma and our fairly upgraded ATC Bobcat insured for 60k, also, install a Ravelco anti-theft system, best $400 you will ever spend. I lock everything and I live in one of the most crime free places in the country.....

    ATC Bobcat after one year...

I think that is what has served me well though, using the rig enough to develop systems and intervals of maintenance that stay fresh. It's a great platform, fabulous place to live and work from for sure. My wife took the truck for a spin without the camper on it to get us lunch and to wash it...

    Fresh Water Drain Leaking

I'll replace mine when I put the camper in "Dry-Dock" for a day to re-paint the lower wood sections and inspect the thing...I have not had it off the truck since 2011.

Bendable Solar Panels and Compressor Refrigerators

Thanks... Not to totally slam the stuff but after using digital for 20+ years, the best thing I did for my career & creative inner workings was to largely kick digi to the curb, invest in a state of the art black and white darkroom and master making hand crafted photographs for the high end...

Bendable Solar Panels and Compressor Refrigerators

The antenna is on the front, booster inside down near the battery box. You can see it on the pic. Honestly, I got it mainly for my wife since she is the one who needs the computer to work, I don't really as I use film in my photography business, the fridge is great for that. So there are 2 x...

Sheet metal screws, a couple in existing holes from the old panel. I do some pretty rough off-roading, hardware is the only thing I would consider...

Bendable Solar Panels and Compressor Refrigerators

I use a Dometic CR1065 and honestly, I could run it full time on just the twin 100 watt semi-flex panels on the roof, in fact it has been running since July since I am using the rig on a ton of photo shoots, keep infrared film in it along with food and drinks. So I run two batteries, two charge...

    to regear or supercharger?

I have had the TRD supercharger on my 05 Tacoma for about 110K, 60K with the camper. Mine is also modified beyond the TRD level with a smaller pulley, exhaust upgrade, ECU piggyback, cold air intake, oil catch can, ARP racing head studs, Cometic head gaskets and upgraded fuel pump. I could not...

    Ultimate Solar Thread

I recently pulled off my 28 pound 135W roof panel and replaced it with two Renogy 100W flex panels, so nice and light, now have a total of 350 watts feeding two separate charge controllers and batteries. Solar is so good and so cheap, I am always amazed at how tight budgeted people are on...

Best cell phone carrier for "wandering"?

It's not bad with a socket and closed end wrench. I bet you could fab a pinned fold down system, I might because I am nearly 9 feet as it is with the lift and 33" tires. What are the typical clearances on ferries in that area? I have thought about such journeys...

Best cell phone carrier for "wandering"?

My wife worked on reports last night until 12 AM, I prepared for a shoot that I did early this morning, on a ridge top at over 11,000 feet, it all worked fantastic.

Best cell phone carrier for "wandering"?

Hi, I have the antenna mounted to the front rack on top of the camper, it uses a 4-bolt, 2 plate L clamp but also has other mounting options, some attach it to a mirror on a large RV, some on the side without the second plate. I ran the cable through the roof and made a stiff grommet out of a...

    Filling Propane cylinder

I sure wish the readout on them was more accurate, although with a 2-way fridge we usually only top it off a couple times a year, using no more than a full 20 pounds in that period, less in the Summer obviously.
