    Spring Desert

Having a great mission down south. Stopped in Borrego for some pampering at Borrego Valley Inn. Epic and highly recommended. Two pools, one clothing optional for some sun on z buns and late night skinny dip with me lady :)

Anyone done the stove recall done yet?

I was getting some work done last month on my 2022 hawk at the Woodland facility. Brenda mentioned that my stove was on the list for recall. She said I would be notified when the recall was under way and that they would send a new unit to the RV service center in my area for the installation, (...

    Carrizo Plain Camping

Thank you for the current conditions Jack. We will be heading home through there in one week. Perhaps the coming week of predicted sunshine will boost the bloom a bit. Either way, just nice to be on the road, out of the rain and not at work :)

Anyone know how the HS is this time of year? Lots of photos online lead me to believe it may be too crowded?

    Last Minute Desert Plans

Thank You Jack! I do anticipate JT to be crowded. My wife and I have never been so we will endure the masses just this one time. We have a campsite at Indian Cove for two days. On our way there we plan to stay in Anza Borrego for at least two nights. We also want to swing through Julian ( my dad...

Thinking about going Lithium, have questions...

I was running the 2 way fridge, lighting, heater and water pump. Fridge was the only thing running full time and I was frugal with the usage of the other loads. Woke up on 4th day at 50% and was at 32% by the end of the trip. 4 days of rain/overcast.

Thinking about going Lithium, have questions...

206AH SOK here and extremely happy with it. Light weight for the amount of power it provides. 175w panel up top is all I have charging it right now ( will be installing DC/DC soon). I camped all last summer and several times this winter for multiple days at a time. Only been down to 50% after a...

    Last Minute Desert Plans

We were planning on heading to our place in Humboldt then up to Crescent City to visit a friend the first week of April. Weather looks like it will still be wet and we are in need of some solar power. Changing jigs and heading south! We got the last campsite at Indian Cove in Joshua Tree. We...

    No Salmon Season?!?

I love all the fresh water options and hit them when I can. All of them unfortunately are so far away from me. As I write this I look out at the sunset from my back deck over the ocean. I can feel the fish are there. As much as I love inland fishing, there is something magical to me about...

    No Salmon Season?!?

Looks like the CDFW has decided to not open the season on the scheduled date of May 1st (low counts on the Klamath and the Sac). They will re-evaluate on the 15th but rumor has it, the season will not open this year. Also, now that the weather is having some windows of rest, and the crabbing has...

    Grand Teton National Park

I love the path you picked, Harmonicas and also the Hot springs Vic mentions! My only reservation is that takes us father north then time may allow. I will work on the misses to see if she can get more time off so we can extend the journey!

    Reservation.GOV is not the government.

I have been very frustrated at the amount of reserved sites EVERYWHERE. I think folks with more money than sense are gobbling up all the sites "just in case" they can make it. Last week in Pfeiffer SP, all of the sites were reserved and only 10 or so were occupied. All of the premium river sites...

Has anyone Camped at Big Den (BLM) in NV off the 50? We are looking to drive around 7 hours or so the first day. Big Den fits the bill and look primitive and beautiful.
