Dodge Ram 1500 Classic w/3.6L Pentastar V6 w/Truck Camper Performance Question

For the last many years, all Dodge RAM 1500 trucks have a Rear Coil Spring Suspension (there are no leaf springs). Some of the RAM 1500's have an Air Ride System (No leaf springs, No coil springs, Only air bags -- less than ideal for carrying a camper). 99% of the newer RAM 1500's on the market...

Advice re: Tying Down to Tacoma

Depending on the shape of the camper base, the camper might not fit in the bed, if you put one of the FWC Black Steel Bed Bars in the furthest set of bolts in the Tacoma Bed. Might be easier to install the Tacoma Bed Bars in the correct locations, but add or move the rear camper tie downs on...

Dodge Ram 1500 Classic w/3.6L Pentastar V6 w/Truck Camper Performance Question

Go bigger motor. Consider other trucks too. Harder to do rear suspension upgrades on the RAM 1500 trucks with rear coil springs.

    Fiamma awning

Imwilco1, If you have a Flatbed Camper, adding the Fiamma awning WILL increase the over-all height (the awning sticks up above the camper roof line). But if you have a regular slide-in FWC, adding the Fiamma awning won't add any extra height to the roof line. Awning mounts flush against the...

    Venting a refrigerator.

The frame picture attached is from 2002/2003, but should be the same. Cut as your own risk. Not all FWC camper frames we created the same over the years. But that said, it should be somewhat easy if you have basic skills. Have a great weekend ! Stan

    Tricks for cable jacks?

We have always bolted or welded a steel extension plate on to the lip of the cable jacks. Works great. Gives you more clearance, and they seem a bit more stable. Still wobbly, a little sketchy, but workable.

    Suspension advice for F250 6.7

bwag We see a lot of trucks come through here. I have seen a lot of lifted trucks with campers on them. Seems like the lifted trucks also sag (squat) more with a camper on, than a truck with stock ride height. A fully loaded Hawk, on a stock Ford F-250, CrewCab, Short Bed Diesel will most...

    Newb needs help on installation

Where do you live? Or where is the camper? You’ll also need the put some 1” runners under the camper. Your truck has rounded tailgate corners. Most people will strap the camper down from the jack brackets to the rear bumper and under the front to the truck frame.

    CPAP Question

From one of our dealers and his personal experiences . . . <<< Most CPAP machines have optional 12 V travel power cords available. This is the best way to run a CPAP on the road in my experience. If your client is unsure that a 12 V option is available to them, they can look up their machine...

    Use of plywood piece?

That thin board is usually stowed over the water tank. Originally it had two small bungee cords to secure the 3-piece portable table leg to it.

    ARB to National Luna fridge/freezer?

National Luna always seem to get the top ratings in the Overland Journal testing. Paul May (EQUIPT) gave me the National Luna info last month and it impressed me. I want one now.

Beginning to Troubleshoot Intermittent Electrical Failures....Iota?

IOTA normally only powers components inside the camper when you are plugged into 120v shore power (AC). The two 12v wires coming out of the IOTA usually go the main lug on the fuse block, so if you are plugged in to 120v shore power, ALL fuses on the fuse block should be getting power. Not...

Fleet install question (camper sitting on sides of truck bed)

Yes, add approx 1” under the camper. The Tacoma truck beds got 1” deeper. Not good for the truck to have the weight of the camper resting on the bed rails.
