RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Not a Weekend Warrior

I'm going to,guess that it is the cross sloped or even warped driveway that is the main problem for you. Might consider a redesign of the driveway to be more on a plane.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 06 Tundra AC as a base for a flatbed camper?

I also had an '86 Westy Syncro for a while. Then had a Hawk on a SuperCrew F150. Now have a Hawk on a SuperCab F250. I just weighed the truck with no camper, just me and 1/2 tank of fuel; 7000 lbs. I wish I could get the same features with a lighter rig but the pickup truck/camper is not...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Safety pin for Yakima Swingdaddy enough?

My Yakima pin has a bolt head and draws the rack securely up against the side of the receiver tube for no side to side wobble. However It did not help the up/down wobble so I added an anti-tilt bracket (pic below). Had up to four bikes on it many times on some bumpy trails too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What do you use to level your truck camper

At a developed campground with paved parking pad I use the plastic lego style blocks and they work great. If I am in an undeveloped area I usually prefer to dig into the earth with a shovel to lower the corner(s) as necessary for leveling.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Window Leak 2015 Hawk

Thanks for the ideas. FWC got right back to me and offered to look at it. I think we will go ahead ourselves to run the hose around the window to try to find the source of the leak. Then figure out next steps.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Window Leak 2015 Hawk

I found some water in the inside channel of the rear window in the 2015 Hawk. I've got a call into FWC to see what they might suggest. The caulking around the aluminum window frame looks to be completely sealed against the fiberglass siding. Only other possible source is water getting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 07 Hawk on a 2015 Truck

My former Hawk was a 2006 and it had factory strips on the bottom. To fit the truck I had then I added 1" thick strips of plywood to the existing strips.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Kayak + Aluminum Roof Rack

I have also placed a kayak on the factory rack with foam blocks and ratchet straps. I even carried the same kayak inverted on the roof of my Jaguar sedan with foam blocks front and rear of the reinforced sunroof and thin straps through the door openings. I've carried some pretty heavy lumber...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How are you carrying your oversized spare with your FWC?

I can't help with ways to carry a large spare but have you considered just carrying the stock spare? Maybe supplemented with a good patch kit to and compressor to increase the opportunity repair the 35s. considering how often is a spare used.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Hawk Sink Drain Corrosion

On my 2006 Hawk I had to replace the entire sink due to corrosion. I had left wet items there after a trip and failed to clean up and air out enough.

Yes it is a knock-off. Probably got it off amazon or eBay about 4 years ago.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Super Duty Lift suggestions

The front looks to me to be stock. I read somewhere on the web that the F250 snow plow package has +1 front springs possibly 1" taller than non-snowplow springs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Access holes to turnbuckles

The panel strength should be fine with either shape. Make the openings large enough to get your hand in there and work around the turn buckles.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Super Duty Lift suggestions

Previously I was using just airbags to help level the truck a bit. The spring shop added two leafs to the stock leaf pack on each side. This resulted in a lift of about 1.5 to 2" when unloaded. Works well for this truck too since the front springs might be higher due to the snow plow package...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lagun Table - Hawk Rollover Couch

This is how I installed the Lagun style Table on my new Hawk with the rollover couch. It can work for seating with 2 or 3 persons (maybe even 4). I had shortened the horizontal arm on the support.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof slide bolt latch

Seems like when some folks make this mistake the latch bolt pops out of the hole and no harm is caused. Perhaps look at relocating the bolt latch so that in the closed position it is not so far into the hole and then it might pop out more easily when the next mistake is made. Not too much...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Carson Iceberg Wilderness

Nice report. A few years ago entered the Carson Iceberg Wilderness from the west side at Highland Lakes. My buddy and I backpacked in for a bow hunt. Pretty country although saw no deer on that trip. I also like the more open country you encountered from your trailhead as I generally prefer...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Aluminess bumper on my Super Duty with FWC Hawk

I'm assuming that the bumper mounted spare is a second spare in addition to the factory one? Or are aftermarket tires too large to fit under the bed?
