RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Home for the Hawk 2500 Power Wagon

You don't have the bags teed together, do you? As you probably know, doing that will increase body roll.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Factory Air Conditioning

How heavy are those things? I think if I ever want A/C, I'll try to come up with some kind of bracket the unit would kind of clip into, so it would just pop off and go behind the seat in the truck while driving. It would have a pretty cushy ride right between the axles, and I would probably...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Factory Air Conditioning

Riding where it is, way way back behind the rear axle, is going to give the poor A/C unit a really rough ride. That can't help it's lifespan. But where else could it go? The roof mount ones are probably too heavy.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to insulate Eagle floorpack

I searched a lot but didn't find much info on my topic. I want to insulate as much of the camper as I can. I know there will always be parts of the camper that lose a lot of heat, but I think if I can do things in the areas where it's feasible all the little things will add up to a noticeable...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Locations Page Addition to Our Travel Blog

That's really cool you are doing that! I think I've read all your trip reports and found quite a few of your unspecified locations on GE using your photos and info and Google. Hopefully you will keep some special spots secret! I had just found your favorite Granite Mountains (Mono County)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two Nights at Benton Hot Springs - December 2019

Just spotted this, nice! There is a foot trail to the Sacramento main workings about 1000' up, where the upper cable tram tower is. Wish I knew you were around! I can see my house in photos #14 and 20. :P

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diesel Heater Install

It looks like it might be this one? https://www.ebay.com/c/1561637574 I'm really interested in a diesel heater too. I was thinking of an install a lot like yours. Not sure whether a Chinese or an expensive name-brand one. I wonder if there is any more risk of a Chinese one doing something...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

Sorry, missed your post. I was referring to the FWC installed wiring for the solar. I have read at least a few times here that it is 12g. Maybe(hopefully) it is really 10g in there. I can't check mine right now because it is in my garage and packed with crap I don't have anywhere else to store...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

It's not so much that I couldn't afford the Overland option, but I might as well try to keep costs under control. I do need to put in more time researching controllers and monitors. I'm kind of an information junkie, so I know I will want to see what is doing what and going where. Using one...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

I missed the Overland panels somehow in my research. Are they worth the higher price vs the Renogy? From what I have read and learned, the 2 Renogy 160w panels will be overkill for me as it is. I do like knowing all the options, since I waste endless amounts of time researching everything to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fitting a FWC Eagle to Full Size truck Ideas/Opinions?

Don't know if it helps, but I'm getting ready to put my Eagle on my 06 fullsize Dodge and got a really helpful photo video from Stan that showed what looked like mostly Eagles on various fullsize trucks. I also read a number of posts and I believe one from FWC that you only need 2" of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

No problem on the photos, but don't hold your breath. I still have to figure out how to get the Eagle on the full size Dodge! Shouldn't be too tough, but the solar is a few slots down on the project list. I'll post something when I have some progress to show. Or when I ruin something.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

I guess what I needed was firsthand experience of running a lot of solar with the 12g wiring, and that's what you guys have given me. I have been planning on an MPPT controller and panels in series for the reasons stated, and I expect to rarely have partial shading issues where running in...

I was aware of the corrosion issue, but hadn't looked into a good way to prevent it, if there is one. Do you have any specs on your max solar amps/watts and voltage drop to your controller at max? You are a long way North of me, so your max at 400w might be about the same as mine at 320w. Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Idea for Higher Amp Solar Wiring

First post, so hello to all WTWers! I will confess to lurking off and on for years. I want to put 2 of the Renogy 160 amp flexible panels on my 2012 Eagle roof. I've read lots of threads with differing opinions on whether the 12g existing solar wiring is adequate, and also how running the...
