It's a good idea tp check the anode, it's easy to flush tank out. I got a fitting to fit in the hole for anode and attached a vinyl hose to it, run water into tank and then let in drain out onto the driveway via the hose, this will keep the heater compartment from getting so much water in there.

Craig, it sound like you have a problem with output from your alternator. I would have a load test put on the alternator to see what the amp output is. Glad to hear you made it home !!

Your Super Duty will handle the camper with no problem without the air bags. Maybe just a little sag from weight, does your Super Duty have the overload springs from Ford? I installed the air bags on my Super Duty to help with sway from side to side, also to level truck.
