RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meteorological Autumn 2017

Freezing rain is the worst. We have sun and 14°F here this morning. But 15-25 mph winds made it seem quite a bit colder. Looks like the first deep freeze of the year is here for the weekend. Might hit single digits tonight. Short-lived though- should see 40°s again next week. :) Looks like a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RotoPax or AT ?

If you are in Canada, I would get the Scepter military spec plastic cans- way better. You can buy them at Princess Auto and other places. Can't ship them to the US though...

Craig- I don't think you can find these anymore- unless at an antique sale. You could make one pretty easily though. Edit: I take that back- here's one: https://www.boundarywaterscatalog.com/timmackey/schmidt-pack-saw-41029

Looks like a good weekend. Those old canal parks are interesting. I've been to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park- commemorates the Ohio- Erie Canal system. Thanks for your report!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Schmidt - Curtis Stebbins Pack Saw

Ha, we've got one of those- at least 40 years old. Same design but made in Minnesota. You can cut through an 8" log easily with that thing. Probably should get a new blade too. It is a cherished piece of kit. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting FWC vs. ATC on a Tacoma composite bed

Our Tacoma has the composite bed and an ATC camper mounted in it by ATC back in 2012. The camper sits directly on the bed with no pad which allows water to drain away from the bottom of the camper. ATC installed eyebolts. At the forward location they used steel plates to offset the eyebolts from...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What are the must have add ones? From ATC or self built. I'm about to order!

I made the hold down strap to fit the ammo can. It works pretty well. You can see more pictures here: http://travelswithrockythedog.blogspot.com/2013/08/new-storage-and-inverter-outlet.html Good question on the heater vent. The heat dissipates pretty quickly from that vent- I have not had...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What are the must have add ones? From ATC or self built. I'm about to order!

We use the AT gas can carriers and like them- they are dual purpose and can carry ammo storage cans as well. We use the Scepter military fuel carriers- they are quiet, don't rust and pour quickly. I made a spout for them.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Paria Canyon Roads

Ronin, we did some of your trip last October (also on good advice from Cayuse). We drove from Tuweep to Kodachrome in one day with a couple of short stops- wished we had more time. Cottonwood Canyon is worth the trip unless there is rain as Cayuse mentioned- the road turns to glop when wet...

I agree. But trying to make sense of the federal budget is a fool's errand, right? Politics and common sense rarely go together it seems.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meteorological Autumn 2017

Well, we have had a nice autumn, but the forecast for Friday is 1-3 inches of snow with one model showing 4-7 inches. Looks like an early winter here... Here's a pic of snowberries from our yard today- seemed appropriate. :)
