.A Pacific storm will tap into subtropical moisture and bring
periods of moderate to heavy snow above 6000 feet along with
strong gusty winds. The heaviest snow is expected Wednesday
evening through Thursday afternoon. Motorists planning travel into
the mountains of Western Plumas county and the Sierra Nevada
during this time frame should be prepared for hazardous winter
driving conditions.

* WHAT...Periods of heavy rain and snow and near zero visibility
at times. Snow levels generally above the Sierra passes
Wednesday and Wednesday night, but lowering below pass level on
Thursday. Plan on difficult travel conditions over the Sierra
passes Thursday and Thursday night. Possible damage to trees and
power lines, and local rock or debris flows. Total snow
accumulations of 6 to 12 inches, with localized amounts two feet
or more.

* WHEN...10 AM Wednesday to 4 AM Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for significant reductions in
visibility at times. Southwest wind gusts over 60 mph over the

...and unfortunately, this warm wet from the southwest brought rain to the mountains, currently 38°F at the 6,300-foot base of Mt. Bachelor ski area. And with more warm-wet on the way they're going to be closed through Thanksgiving -- after opening early, this past Saturday.MarkBC said:It's been very windy in Bend since last night and started raining in the wee hours this morning.
