    Countertop replacement

I watched craigslist and eventually found some 1/4" corian. Worked awesome!

    Flatbed DIY Help and Discussion

The side stress I was referring to is on the brackets mounted on the corners since (in my mind, it'd be interesting to ask FWC) they are meant to lift the camper up and down and not for sideway movement. There are only 3 or 4 bolts mounted into the alum frame. I know a lot of people use this...

    Flatbed DIY Help and Discussion

Not sure what Kevin you are asking about but mine's a Hillsboro alum. I added boxes to front (under tray). I also put in a 'cargo box' which will be powder coated this winter in white (and I'll add a black strip). Picture attached.

    3 Week Trip! CA-NV-ID-MT-WY-UT-AZ

Tons of options near Stanley and along the Salmon river. Some are "campsites" but a lot of BLM land, You could cross over from Ketchum through the Copper Basin (awesome area and fishing) and then head towards Butte.

T-Mobile and SpaceX announce plan to have phones work with Starlink satellites

I guess I'll believe it when I see it and the price is reasonable. Next year probably means 3 years though and if it's only on t-mobile that might not work for me and where I live (coverage isn't great).

    Flatbed DIY Help and Discussion

I like Kevin's idea about using the torklift tie downs but I'd be a bit worried about the stress (side) on the brackets but it certainly would make taking it on/off easier. I'd check w/ FWC about using those brackets as side stress mounting points. I basically has brackets build that the side...

Should we take a pop up on White Rim road

Tough call but I'd take it off. In our case 1 year, we had snow, rain, etc. and all of a sudden, everyone wanted to load their bikes, gear, etc. into the truck! Not enough room. Somewhere I have a picture of about 8 people piled into an outhouse trying to get warm... while I doubt you'll have...

Outfitter or Hallmark - help me decide!

I would take a road trip and visit each factory. Seeing them would really help you decide.

    Outfitter RV Juno

There's not a ton :-) of difference between a 2500 and 3500. Just add a leaf pack and you're good to go.

    Rear Window Reseal

As a guy who documented everything, I just checked my files. I don't have any but may have been deleted when I sold my Eagle. It's not difficult though. You take the screws out around the frame and things will separate out of the door frame. You'll see the tabs on the plastic frame that you...

    Rear Window Reseal

When I took my old window out, I noticed that the tabs that held it in place (Plastic) had broken. I flipped the frame around and reinforced it then re-installed. It lasted 8+ years and was still going strong when I sold it. Find out why the glass "moved".

Back to Oregon - July 2022

Been there many times and it's a great area. We've backpacked both "arms" of the mountains. Earlier in the year, at the lower trails, the creek has more fishing opportunities. They are "wild" reband trout. There's also great fishing down (or upstream) from the campground if you hit it right...

Adding a protecting vinyl layer on the outside corners?

Anyone ever (or consider) putting an extra "layer" of vinyl (or some other material) on the vinyl corners of their FWC? In our previous FWC's that seemed to be the area where most wear came from (I always tucked the corners in too). We use our camper a lot (new Hawk Flated; 4 months old and...

Attaching thermal pack on both ends

BTW. I talked with FWC about this issue. They are contemplating putting the velcro around the ends int future FWC's to fasten the thermal pack so that should tell you that it's ok!

    New ATC Cold Weather pack

There must be a material that's the best of both worlds. I mean people complained that the original material was too thin and now the vinyl doesn't breath. Maybe make one out of gortex or equivalent? I think if you made one yourself, the cost would be about the same as buying one. Now, I...

Attaching thermal pack on both ends

Great... headed out to add some velcro to the corners and around the back. I figured it'd work on the front as there are those wires that are behind the push boards and the velcro is way thinner than the wire loom. Thanks! Kevin

    Tacoma wind struggles?

I had an Eagle on a v8 Dakota at one time. I had to plan on passing anyone about 15 mins ahead of time. I didn't have the gearing you are talking about and we didn't/don't drive fast but it was kind of scary but probably 18mpg. Then I went to a RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. That was a great setup. An...

    ATC wiring upgrade for Lithium

I built my own LifePO4 battery pack (120ah) and as others stated, you'll need (or want) a DC-to-DC charger to charge the batteries from the alternator. You can get an isolated DC charger too. I have a solar (backpack) we use when we aren't driving for a few days (actually ithe battery does...

Wind deflectors and Aero mods for fuel economy.

Wow.... a lot of info/reading, etc. Interesting too that they patented it. I wasn't able to read all of it and went to the end to the "results". I'll have to go back when I have more time and read it more closely but still not exactly sure what the final, best solution would be for our...
