RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Understanding 2004 Eagle electrical system.

Um, a bit confusing. I think you want your truck battery to charge the camper battery when you are driving. You'll probably want an isolater (a lot of Blue Sea users on this forum including me). Now, what to do w/ the solar. If your Eagle is like mine, the camper battery is under the bench...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shore power - what is supposed to work?

Thanks you guys for straightening me out on Converter vs. Inverter... I guess I could see you needing/wanting both but surely these campers have converters when you hook to shore power :-).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shore power - what is supposed to work?

I don't know about AK's but FWC/ATC the shore power does different things depending on if you have an inverter which I'm pretty sure you do. It could power just about everything and charge the batteries. As someone else pointed out, w/o the batteries I'm not sure if things like the refrig...

I forgot to add, if you search around on this forum, there's a longer discussion of this window issue/fix.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West June 2018 trip problems

Those rear windows can slip off their tabs inside the frame. It's a wierd design which you'll notice if you take it apart. Not too bad but I noticed it one day when it had slipped about 1" down and there was a large gap at the top of the glass and the frame. It could have just slipped off the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Swift transplant to Powerstroke F-150 complete

I'm with you on the diesel and I have the Ram 1500 ecodiesel but the power, torque, mpg, etc. are crazy good. I think the gas engines do have some benefits but it's not that big of a deal. The prem cost for fuel (in some parts of the country) and upcharge for the diesel is a downside...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air suspension needed?

I agree with the other poster and if the camper is going to be on fulltime, I'd add a leaf and forget air suspension. Air bags can fail.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GMC Canyon + Fleet = Family of Four?

My 1 cent (half as good as the 2 cent above)... way too many people in a FWC that small. I'd consider going larger (truck and camper) otherwise you'll have to do it in a few years.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Leave camper jacks at home ?

Like others, we leave ours at home. The only reason would be as others implied. If you were going to go somewhere where you need to drive somewhere and you are going to be there for a while (month?) you might want to take the camper off but generally, it's not worth the hassle and having them...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Swift transplant to Powerstroke F-150 complete

Diesel in Mexico is just about all ULSD now so that's not an issue anymore. We just spent 2.5 months down there in my Ram EcoDiesel (this is mainland Mexico) and not an issue at all.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone put a Fleet on a Tacoma SR with the smaller motor

I had my Eagle on a 2001 Dakota (with the V8). If you aren't in a hurry and don't mind going really slow up hills, I'm sure you'll be fine BUT if you want to pass someone, you need plan ahead about 10 min. to get up to speed (at least we did) :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2001 Eagle 4 Wheel Camper- Refresh

I've got an Eagle on a RAM 1500. Made a bed platform and all is well. I like the fact that it "fits" behind the cab better and doesn't stick out the sides as much.

We're headed up that way early Sept. and will get some fly fishing in, etc. No real destinations other than PEI, NB, etc. and will definately monitor this thread!

As others pointed out Utah is an amazing state. So many great options. I'd check out Hells Backbone, K-basin, Grand staircase, etc., etc. Bears Ears too. You may never make it to your destination! Kevin

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC hold downs not symmetrical

I've never looked that close to my 2001 Eagle but as David replied, I think if you adjust the turnbuckles correctly, it should be fine.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Almost trip report of 2 months in Mexico...

Headed home. We'll cross the border in about 5 days or so. I'll do a better write up then but after about 60 days in the camper we've really had no issues. This is in a 2001 Eagle. The only issue was that our high end fantastic fan w/ the rain sensor would sense "rain" in the humid beach...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seams/Sealing and leakage

Ok, I had my "vinyl" replaced a few years ago now (2001 Eagle) and only once or twice has it rained so hard that water actually came in through the stiching holes near the windows. My new vinyl has a velcro piece that you attched when the weather is really bad and in both times I was either too...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Insuring your Four Wheel Camper

I use Farm Bureau and it seems that it was fairly cheap based on the amount/value you have. I think I insured my Eagle (2001) for $15k and it was around $100ish.

I doubt they'll come back for it as you raise a great question. If they brought in a new one, why not take the old one out? Probably didn't want to wait but regardless, if the Park Service (probably not working yet) has their license plate, they can probably send them a bill for removal.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Oldest known FWC?

Just curious if anyone knows the oldest FWC that is still out there? Mine is from 2001/2002 and been restored but I know I've seen some from the 1980ies.
