RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2002 Eagle - No Upper Arctic Pack Attachment Point

Strange. If I recall, my 2001 Eagle had it and when I had the vinyl replaced it was/is there too. I wonder if the previous owner cut it out or if there is some other reason why it's not there?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Used Camper Alert Thread

I would start adding up the options and condition. The awning, jacks, arctic pack, furnace, etc. and the condition of the vinyl are all expensive items. Now, not having a refrig or stove deduct. I'd say it's a bit high.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A new National Park buried in the stimulus bill!

Interesting. I have mixed feelings as we "love our NP's to death" and with that status will come changes for usage. I personally like the changes but I'm not sure everyone will. Here in Idaho we had some wilderness that was debated on for a long time about NP status. In the end it was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Headliner removal

When you reseal the roof screws on the top, don't be stingy on the sealant. I covered my screws completely and my roof now looks like a polka dot but no leaks. Who cars what it looks like! :-) Oh, and like others stated, take the screws out, clean it really well, put some sealant on the...

What are you going to do w/ the old refrig? I might be interested assuming it works. Of course, I doubt you are anywhere close to Boise, ID.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Headliner removal

Like others, the old strips are easy to take off and the staples just pull out. I used some equivalent strips you can buy at just about RV place, Home Depot, etc. I used small screws to install the new strips. I have a 2001 Eagle but I would suspect your leaks are from roof screws (or maybe...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Canada Road trip tips

We did about 2 months up from Idaho to the Maritimes. Used iOverlander a lot and found some amazing camp spots. I'm sure you'll find so many you may not come home :-). BTW, in case you didn't know, radar detectors are illegal in most (if not all) of Canada and they'll take them away and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Temp LiFeP04 and Interview with battleborn CEO

I only have a 120Ah DIY battery w/ that BMS too and made my own. I've sent my notes to a few people on what I used and hope they were helpful. Pretty inexpensive to make your own and there's so many parameters you can set (along w/ the DCtoDC charger it's overwhelming).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Limited Storage? 10 lbs of stuff in a 5 lbs cabinet.

We've learned over the years that there were a lot of things we had packed that we didn't really need and they don't get packed now. We limit ourselves to 1 plastic container of clothes, etc. Over time, you'll figure out what you need and what you have to have. For instance, we had an axe and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Battery swap

Not exactly. If you want to use a LifePO4 battery, send me your email and I'll send you a document on what I did to make my own and what you need to do. One thing I didn't address is the wiring from the alternator to the camper (thicker is better) but I already had done that. Kevin

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC to DC Battery Charger (Newer Auto Stop Trucks)

Good question. Depending on your power needs, 2 days should be do-able with a house battery unless you are running the refrigerator, furnace, etc. a lot. I don't know what the start/stop feature will do w/ the DC controller but I have the Victron DC-DC controller. I think there's a delay on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Not sure about all terrain campers

I had them replace my "vinyl" a few years ago (probably 4 now) and the external flaps were used then. I'll say that it's nice not having them on the outside when things are nice but when you need them on (rain, snow, etc.) in the middle of the night, it's a hassle to get them up. You could...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Temporary tie down of fwc

I would suggest that's not a very good solutiion. The bed tie down points are made for those kind of stresses. You've seen all those pictures of bent/broke turnbuckles? That's a lot of stress on the bed tie downs that are designed for that... just my opinion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Grandby Anchor Location Measurements

I was worried about this when I got my Eagle a long time ago. I think that the location is really flexible depending on your truck. I would suggest that you use backing plates on your truck (I used on the top and bottom of the bed) since you have time. That could dictate too where you put the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What Should I do with my Electrical System?

I agree with others. If you aren't seeing any battery drain/degradation keep going. Once the battery gets to a point where it's not holding a charge as much, upgrade to a LifePO4. Build it yourself ahead of time and save a lot of money, etc. I posted a while ago about where I sourced parts...

When I found my FWC, I had my truck ready for about a year before I found what I wanted and bought it sight unseen and drove a long way the next day to get it. You really have to move quickly when you find one you like at the price you like.

I like the floor pack idea too. It's a bit more work but if you are tearing it down that far it's probably a better solution for all the reasons you stated!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Total pop-up material replacement - purchasing to finishing

If you are redoing it along with the panels, you could raise the height too. I think that's an option either on FWC or ATC's. I think 6"?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Eagle fit my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500?

I have an Eagle on a RAM 1500 and it's great. As others stated, I had to build a platform to lift it over the bed rails and over the cab. There is space on the sides of the camper along the truck bed that I made some access for and we keep our chairs, table, etc in there. Also, the Eagle sits...
