    Celebrate the Summer Solstice!

We spent the night at Campo Alto on Cerro Noroeste in the Los Padres and watched a spectacular sunset over the Sierra Madres. Good for the soul.

    Vernal Equinox 2014 - Springtime!

We are defnintely looking forward to it. Our annual ritual of blowing off our usual evening fitness regimes for a run up to our favorite hiking area followed by a late dinner al fresco is always and enjoyable start of the new season.

Big Sur and the search for Sunman's secret camping spot.

Nice report Bill, looks like you two had a great trip. From your photo it sure looks like you have found it. The photo of mine that you have posted is from March 2010. Bill, Julia Pfeiffer Burns SP and McWay Falls are definitely not to be missed. Pfeiffer Beach near Big Sur proper and it's purple sand are also worthy. A hike out to the mouth of the Big Sur River at Andrew Molera SP is also nice. We also never miss stopping at the Henry Miller Library, walking...

Is there a Best 12V Battery

Been running a Sears Diehard Group 31 going on 4 years, still going strong. Others claim a pair of 6V in tandem is the way to go. For simplicity though, the Diehard is hard to beat.

Thanks folks. This trip in particular was extra special, the whales that chose us were incredibly playful and friendly, I must have kissed five different whales. We seem to get lucky late season when fewer whales are remaining, I think ~80 mamas and babies were all that were left. As it's been...

How often do you replace the water in your tank

Maybe just drain it into a 5 gal bucket and water your plants with it? That's what i do when I have to drain the water tank for whatever reason.
