    Health scare and trip planning

Howdy Sunman I share your sentiments about the boonies but then again we all want our health care providers to show up for work. It is a confusing time and hard to know whats the right thing to do. Social distancing seems very important in the short term and then after that we will see. I...

Hi Klahanie Everything is rightfully upside down just now but I personally have a hankering to head up Island (Vancouver) sometime later in the summer....do you know of any Canadian governmental sites to watch regarding travel alerts? Maybe we will transplant for good....been pondering that...

Hooking up Hawk to Bumper 7 pin on 2020 GMC Sierra 2500

With running lights always make sure the camper body is grounded to the truck. I don't know anything about newer truck electrical but the lights on older campers need the camper frame grounded to the truck frame. Hope this helps. David Graves

Rear bumper swing arm with camper ?

Howdy It is very easy to strap down and secure items like a shovel etc. under the FWC overhang on each side of your truck bed....towstarps etc fit in the forward trapdoors really well,,,,is your truck an access cab ? Lots of space there. Putting weight at the very rear of your truck can look...

FWC: Bolting straight to the truck bed

Hello I think many early FWC campers were thru bolted. I would advise that the thru bolting should be aligned with the cross-bed stiffener braces under your truck bed. You might measure the holes locations first and see where they would locate on your truck bed. Remember the camper front...

1999 Hawk to 2019 Tundra mounting help

You really want mostly downward pull and only a little "outward" (front, back or sideways) pull. I don't think you would ever want as much as six inch offset. You are not wanting the turnbuckles to pull the floor pak apart....but instead you are wanting them to pull the floor pak down in a...

1999 Hawk to 2019 Tundra mounting help

Hello Rearward and sideways offset from the camper eye bolt to the truck bed anchor of around 2" or more should be fine for the reat trunbuckles. The fronts should offset forward and to the side. Equally important is to have the truck bed anchors firmly well, anchored... this usually means...

    How do you plan trips?

Howdy We have a region in mind and if it is distant (Southwestl, Baja, Newfoundland) we employ freeway mode and typically make about 500 miles a day with early starts, a late afternoon break and driving into the night....to a KNOWN destination....and often a small motel. In the midwest or...

FWC Floor -- OSB or Plywood?

Any 5 ply A or B grade of plywood of 3/4 thickness would be fine...I would primed it and all the edges maybe once or twice and also get several coats of paint on it. As Sage points out marine grade would also serve...marine means it is free of any voids within the ply ...it might have some of...

FWC Floor -- OSB or Plywood?

Hi BBZ Don't even consider using OSB in the wet environment the floorpak will be. Are you simply needing additional height stringers for your camper or are you replacing the floor itself ? Sorry but I am not familiar with your project. David Graves

Crumb A barn door ! I knew it ! :) you want a barn door......! Maybe not but anyway... ATC have a better record of building customs than FWC which seem to have a long line of satisfied customers waiting to have their new campers completed. There are a great many utility canopy bodies....with...
