84 Fleet - 09 Tacoma - Project

Another sewing project. Again with plenty of help! My siblings and wife lent a hand for a quick weekend work of sewing curtains and making cushions for the camper. I really enjoyed this project. A lot less stress than the canvas sew job.

    Old Grandby Popped...

Congrats on the new camper. I think it will serve you quite well. Before I DIY'd my canvas I had talked to FWC and All Terrian. New canvas runs $1k plus. My guess is FWC is so busy with new orders it might be hard to get, I would try All terrain first for that particular need. Enjoy the camping!

I am still putting in the work on the camper getting it from 80% to 100% complete. Put together a nice little cabinet in the galley. Really quite happy with how it came out.

    Vintage Grandby Find

Agree on both points. 1. Let me know if you have any questions about my rebuild 2. Would love to see some details of that awning. I have a ton of excess material form my rebuild that I have thought about turning into an awning and would love to pull some ideas. - Tim

    84 Fleet - 09 Tacoma - Project

Thanks shellback. We have to figure that out still. Need to figure out how a car seat will go in the tacoma (it won't) then we will sort out the crib. Can probably just rest of the counter directly next to the bed:) Will but in some sort of mounting system just in case but shouldn't be a major...

    84 Fleet - 09 Tacoma - Project

After our big trip to Montana we had not been in the camper for a few weeks. But finally got out again last week as I was in Vail filming a wedding so we just stayed one night in the camper. The Aspens were prime last weekend. I made a video of the day
Plus it is time to shop for a...

Replacing board under bed in FWC Ranger 2

Patrik, responding to your PM here to keep the discussion open for all to enjoy. About the bed board, that is literally one of the few things I did not rebuild :) but only because the previous owner had. I did paint it to protect it. Mine looks like it is 3/4 ply. I would not go with particle...

Ski carrier for truck bed camper (FWC Ranger 2)?

I have talked to so many people about this problem. None of us have the solution still. The makeshift method is to throw the skis in the camper, then when you park, throw the skis in the cab. It is not ideal. The boxes on the roof are heavy and tough to get to in the poped position. Rear...

    Outside Kitchen, Mark II.

Love it! Looks professionally done. Totally agree outdoor cooking is the way to go. We camp to go outside in the first place. My old classic green coleman does the trick for now but would love to have something like this. Nice job!

    Installing Used FWC

Its a t55 bolt if I recall correctly. You might want to test out opening the bolts up at home before you go and when you have all your tools at your disposal. Tourque is your friend. But it is extremely straightforward to install the bed brackets. my build thread has photos of it.

    84 Fleet - 09 Tacoma - Project

I installed a water system in the camper. Just completely mirrored the original set up: gravity fill tank hand pump simple grey water drain to the side next to propane. Everything went really smoothly for me. really happy with how it all came out. As always I made a video about it. Let me...

No I have not developed any issues with it yet. May have a couple of creases which I suppose over many many years could become problematic. But ~1 year in and everything is working nicely. I keep mine stored top down outside FYI.
