Well i wonder how it looks up there at the moment? i wonder if its possible to get as far as wilson lake? it may be a hopeless slab of compacted frozen snow. oh well, dear wife suggests taking a close up look, i'm up for it, so off we go.

    fast jack removal

I put carriage bolts on my jack brackets, so I do not need a box wrench on one side. Then I just use my 18v impact gun and take the nuts off. I hate driving with the jacks on... the holes are round. what keeps the head from rotating?

    fast jack removal

yes i have taken steps to make the work go as easy as possible...wrenchs are right where theyre needed and i have a spot to stash the jacks, extended, ready to go back on. but nevertheless, i wonder why there is no slick way to "capture" the jack without using bolts.

    fast jack removal

i hate to leave the jacks on when we travel. we frequently have brush problems and tight spots where the jacks would be an issue. so i jack the camper up, get the truck under it, and then remove the jacks. now its not too bad since there are only three bolts per jack but, the nylon bushed...

Adding a fan to the fridge?

Hello Herr42 (Jeff) Does your 2007 four wheel camper have the larger refrigerator / freezer installed in it ? If so, your camper should already have the refrigerator vent fan I think Ted is referring to. I'm pretty sure he is asking about the exterior refrigerator vent fan. We install the...

Adding a fan to the fridge?

I recall it too, I ran wiring for one when I had my counter apart in case I decide one is needed. I figured I'd just end up jerry rigging a mount in the fridge compartment blowing towards the coils. mine is wired but not yet mounted to the coils. ugh. i have used one of the "fridgefans" and i...

Can't blame the CTD for other Mfg'rs stuff.... Sure love mine...3 years and not a single repair..just keeps humming (rattling) along. i cant believe they replaced an engine for no reason. do you think they would do it if they knew it was not their fault? i know those are really reliable...

    Battery Charge from Trailer Connector

At 12VDC and 30 amps, the losses are significant with only 3 or 4 feet of 10 gauge wire, equal to about one third of a volt. If it takes 20 feet of wire to reach the trailer connector at the back of the truck, plus another 10 feet from the hitch to the battery in the camper, the loss could be a...

    Battery Charge from Trailer Connector

well as the charge current drops off the IR loss will decrease. this means that as the battery charges, the effects of voltage drop along the wire are reduced. if all you were doing was trickle charinging to top it up, you could get by with a 16gauge wire. the only reason you need a heavy...

    Battery Charge from Trailer Connector

it will work. power is available only when the engine is running...there is a relay under the hood.

the only problem could be that if your camper battery is really low you might pop the fuse during the initial charge period.
