    Canadian Maritimes

Just read your trip report on the TransLabrador highway Rob. Quite the stretch of road isn't it . We met 3 guys from Quebec that were doing it on mountain bikes when we were there. Now that would be a challenge!! Myself, I didn't find the driving that bad, just awful boring. Probably won't do...

    Canadian Maritimes

Hey Rob. Just read some of your blog and see your second guessing Labrador. We just returned yesterday and took the Labrador route home. Glad I did it but wouldn't bother doing it again. It sure was a driving experience. Someone asked me if I got my satellite phone and when I asked where they...

    Canadian Maritimes

Rob. Smart move on the cabin. On our return last fall the rooms were all booked because we booked on short notice. Put our name on the waiting/ cancellation list and they called us shortly after departure for a room that became available. We made sure we booked early to get a room on the "longer...

    tire choices ?

Looking for new 265/70/17" "E" tires for my 1500 Silverado. Thinking of the Cooper AT3 LT's , Michelin LTX A/T'2s or maybe going back to the BFG KO2's. Like I said in previous post the truck is my dd and our trips with the camper are usually long distance. Will be doing the Nfld/Labrador trip...

    Canadian Maritimes

Hey Rob. Be sure to check out the entertainment at some of the local bars in Nfld. Always good for a laugh. There is some free camping along the cliffs near Cape St George and watch for the whales below. We changed our ferry to June 30th now ,maybe our paths will cross???

    Canadian Maritimes

We will be leaving home on June 21st to catch the ferry to Argentia on the 23rd. Working our way across and up to make our way home through Labrador. Figuring about a 4 week trip. Sounds like we might be hitting prime bug season !! We spent 18 nights in Nfld late Aug early Sept last year ...

    Propane in Camper

I always carry 3-4 one pounders in the camper and a few more in the turnbuckle doors. Maybe not a good thing ??? Been thinking of mounting a 10 lb tank on the back but haven't got around to it yet.

    satellite antenna question

Hi. I have my ATC mounted on a 2017 Silverado extended cab. Going certain directions my satellite radio loses reception. Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this problem. The only reason I subscribe to satellite is for my long trips with the camper . Thanks. Glen.

    20" vs 17" tires ?

The reason I was thinking of the 17" rims is that I thought the extra sidewall might smooth the ride a bit. Also the extra sidewall might handle the HUGE potholes I I tried to avoid in Baja and Nfld last year.

    20" vs 17" tires ?

Thanks for the replies. My camper is only on the truck for 4-6 weeks a year and they are high mileage trips. I'll have to see what I can get for my tires and rims , that will help make my decision easier. Have a good day.

    20" vs 17" tires ?

I currently have 8 ply 275/55/20" KO2's on my truck. Considering swapping out my 20's for 17's and going for a less aggressive tire. I do next to no off roading ,a lot of backroad driving and mostly highway driving since the truck is my daily driver. Couple of questions. 1- Would there be much...

    Bailey's 2018 Raven Shell - Build & Photos

Hey Bailey. Like the idea of the fitting on the water can. Our local Princess Auto sells that can for under $50 (cdn) so I might just have to rig one up. Thanks.

Mexico (Mainland) here we come (soon)

Have a good trip Kevin. My Sister and her boyfriend did the mainland thing 2 or 3 winters ago. Never had any problems and it probably helped that she speaks Spanish. Not sure how far down they went but I remember her commenting on how hot it was while in Huatulco. Safe travels!!

    Sleeping quarters orientation

We went with the 72" wide Ocelot from ATC. Our bed extends out to 76" x 70" wide . I'm over 6ft so we sleep N/W. I think most Ocelots are 78"wide , but the 72 suits us fine for our use. Got the shell with furnace and did my own mods.

    Anyone Baja Bound January-February ?

We were down last winter after we picked up our ATC in Sacramento. Would like to go again but not sure I want to drive that far again this winter since we did a fall trip to Nfld. It's around 2500 miles from home to Mexicali. Not sure what to do this winter.

It"s been a long time since I posted anything and I still haven't tried my hand at posting pictures. Other than a 4 day trip to Manitoulin Island back on the May 24 weekend the Ocelot has been in my shed. It's been a busier summer than I thought. BUT, I do have the camper loaded , mods done...
