    Aluminum Roof Pitting & Disentagrating

FWC does use the roof frame for a ground. There is a ground plate inside the little roof box where the solar stuff goes through. The plate in my camper had some loose screws in it. That could be part of the problem. Ground but not solid ground can be an issue. As can salt. be it from road salt...

Suspa 40lb shocks set of 4 brand new

It does. Obvious to see when an Eagle is parked near a Hawk. Same interior headroom@6'4". But shorter camper so taller vinyl.

    What's your favorite camp chair?

I've got 2 GCI tall directors chairs. Pretty much the same thing without the rocker function and with a decent fold down side table. I like them very much. They fold flat to pack and are way strong and well built. When not camping they see constant porch use.

    Power issues

I have 1) 160 watt panel on the roof and 1) 110 ah battery. I don't run an inverter or laptops ect off the camper. Just lights, furnace, and fridge. I don't even have wiring hooked up to my truck as I haven't needed it. Unless the sun doesn't shine for several days I'm good. I have an...

FWC Raven is small... what are your packing strategies, equipment?

I have an Eagle shell which is smaller. It has the rollover couch with some storage under it. I use this storage for trip specific items out of the norm mostly. I have a Large Plano box that carries most of my kitchen stuff and staple food items. It rides in the back of the crew cab and comes...

    Power issues

1st I don't think that your fridge is only drawing 2 amps. Most use the same compressor these days. My efficient TF51 draws 2.5 amps when running in economy mod and draws 4.5+ on Max mode. It can run a good bit if it's hot out or not fully loaded. Yesterday was fairly cool for this time of...

    FWC - hitch step options

I have an Eagle on a 3" platform in my '06 Tundra. I use the 2 step Brophy hitch step with the Anti-Rattle device mentioned in post 2. Both work great. With the ant rattle tight it's solid as a rock and I'm a big guy. Works fine for my 4'11" wife as well. I normally leave the step in the...

    supporting camper

I'll echo what most have said. My camper comes on and off a bit. When it's off at home I lower it after removing from the truck. I usually support it with milk crates. Depending on what i want to do with it I'll use one or 2 stacked. One set in each corner and one set in the middle. Once the...

    1988 Fleet in 1991 Toyota 22re

I like it. Seems like you have already done a good bit of homework. I just add to keep it light. With the 4 banger that would be my top priority.

Front Bumpers, Winches and Lights-Thoughts, Opinions Experience, etc.

I'm going to echo Mighty Dodge Ram. I've had all the above and on my current truck have chosen not to add bumpers and such. Lot of weight on a 1/2 ton that's already carrying a camper. I did install a front hitch so I can use my winch there if needed. Or for storing my bikes and rack when...

A few last minute questions before ordering Fleet

I have a n Eagle shell. With stove, furnace, rollover couch and both vents. I've added solar and a Truckfridge TF51. The thermal pack is on my short list to add. I've slept in the camper in the 20s. But it would be nicer with the pack. I'll also probably replace both vents with basic fan...

    Recommendation on DC fridge size

I'm pretty sure with Truckfridge that all sizes use the same basic compressor unit. I think It's just a matter of the spacer Center section of box) size. 41 and 51 are the same just taller for the 51. I doubt energy usage is much different. My TF51 draws 2.5 amps in ECO mode and 4.5 amps in MAX.

Fleet front dinette vs. side dinette

I'll throw out another option. The roll over couch. I have sat in both dinettes and don't want one. They take up lot's of space but have little space for sitting. I felt like I was tucked in kids furniture when sitting in a dinette. Love the rollover couch.

PB just issued a new statement to users. Explaining their move. I think they are finding out that the way they went about this is hurting them. They still haven't deleted my account. So I keep hounding them in emails.

I deleted my account last weekend. But it's still there. If I go into my account settings and then go to account. It says it will be deleted last Tuesday! I think they are having a hard time keeping up with us deserters! Either that or hoping we'll come back and change our minds.

    FWC Eagle Shell questions

This would have been so easy to answer last week before I lost all my pics. i have a build thread for my eagle shell. Very similar to yours. I have a Truckfridge TF51. I have it mounted lengthwise to the floor all the way forward and against the front of the bench cushion. It's really not in...

    160 Watt 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel $115

I also have 2 of their 60 watt poly panels combined as a suitcase. I like them as well. Yesterday it was supposed to rain so I added the portable to the roof panel. It's a simple plug in. I instantly saw 14 amps in with the fridge running. My battery was a little low. it charged quickly.
