    Foxwing 270 awning

I forgot about his. Didn't realize he had moved to a sprinter. I just can't keep up! Ha Ha This is the thread I was thinking about. I had looked at it a couple of weeks ago when doing some homework. Looks like he did a nice job. If I go that route I'll probably do similar...

    Electric folding fat bike

I intend to try that soon. I have an additional 120 watt suitcase I can add to my camper. On a sunny day with that and the roof panel I have lot's of juice. My charger can be set to charge at about 3 amps. I have a tiny inverter that should cover that. So on a sunny day here soon I intend to try...

    Foxwing 270 awning

I too have been thinking of these. Somewhere here is a thread from someone who made poles that are attached to the jack brackets to fasten theirs to. Looked real clean. The Batwing that FWC uses self stores the upright poles by folding them up into the roof supports. On the Oztent Foxwing they...

Rear mounted swing bike rack or front tow hitch bike rack?

My rack has good clearance. It would be good for that. But on public roads the bikes are in the way of lights and view. In the link I posted I saw that Swagman makes a version of my rack that works the same as Foy's to get some door clearance.

    Plasti Dip Roof?

Most are a 2 part polyurethane resin. Once cured hard to scratch with a nail let alone a fingernail.

Rear mounted swing bike rack or front tow hitch bike rack?

I have a front hitch on my Tundra. I don't carry the bikes there as they would block headlights ect. But I do use it for the rack. I have had this bike rack for a while. Great bang for the buck. It doesn't swing away but the arms all fold with the pull of a pin and the bikes don't have to be...

    Electric folding fat bike

A while back I was thinking about an E bike and posted this thread. http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/13751-e-bikes/ I built my bike from a kit and love it. Totally sold on the concept. Now a while later I'm thinking of going a different route for Mama Squatch's E bike. She only has one...

Zero electrical power. Something obvious? I hope.

12 volt colors get screwy. Red+ Black- is automotive and what most of us think about who work on cars alot. 120 white is neutral. So because of the amount of 120 in an RV they use white as Neg and black as + on 12 volt stuff. I wasn't aware of this when I got my FWC. When I replaced the...

    Plasti Dip Roof?

Dura Bak is exactly the same thing as Herculiner. It has ground up car tires in it. it's called rubber crumb. Works well in where you need high traction. But bump up against it and it'll take the hide right off of you. I have a nice scar on my shin to prove it. If you go to the Monsta liner...

Zero electrical power. Something obvious? I hope.

Pull it out! That's the main 12 volt cut off switch. Out is ON. In is OFF! Hopefully that's the problem. It breaks the circuit between the Battery and the fuse box. Not so bad. My 1st thought is you had maybe flipped the battery cables!!!!!!!!!! You wouldn't be the 1st to have done that. Not good.

    The Moon Truck

Not so sad! It's not like I junked it. I had just replaced it with a better platform for my main use. Ultimately the Tundra is a perfect truck to carry my Eagle camper. Maybe not as trail ready as built. But more comfortable for long extended trips. It's already done several. Much of the...

    Plasti Dip Roof?

Monsta liner is another option. Lots of folks doing the bodies of their jeeps and offroad vehicles with this stuff. http://www.monstaliner.com/ If I remember correctly Stan @ FWC recommended using Rustoleium white paint.

A canoe with a backrest is a beautiful thing. A canoe with a backrest, an umbrella, and a rod in hand is what life's all about! Waitin' for warmer weather!

    ultralight canoe

I sold my Old Town Discovery 174 about a year and a 1/2 ago. With my son grown and a outboard jet bassboat to fish from I just wasn't using it much anymore. It was also about 80+ lbs and a beast to deal with. That was my 2nd one. I've had one for over 30 years but not using it the way we once did.

I feel the same way. There are some nice places in Upstate. But I have no desire to ever go back through NYC. I tend to pass through the state as far west as I can and quickly. I'd rather be lost in the woods than found in a city! I’d like to, my mother’s family is from upstate, but that’s too...

Half ton truck payload how to increase it?

Technically you can't increase the legal payload. Though several things can be done to make the truck safer and better handling at the limit and slightly beyond. Most 1/2 ton trucks these days are sprung for comfort not load handling. Upgrades from air bags to a couple of additional leaves goes...

Half ton truck payload how to increase it?

I don't think a Hawk would fit in a Colorado. Too wide. That's why they made Fleets and Eagles.

    The Moon Truck

And so ends this chapter and my involvement with Black Beans. She has left for greener pastures. She came to me from southern Virginia and has returned to southern Virginia. New owner seems like a great guy and is excited to get working on the engine transplant.

***SOLD*** RC Pilot Jim is selling his 1988 Suzuki Samurai - $ 6,500 obo

LOL That jobby job seems to have some advantages! Good luck with the sale Jim. That Sammy looks to be in pristine condition compared to most I see. I lusted after a tin top for a long time. But I'm in downsizing mode these days.

    The Moon Truck

The "Turquoise Torqkilla" now resides once again on my engine stand. Where it will stay for a while till I get a chance to install it in my '88 Trooper. The long chapter of me with this truck is about to draw to a close. I never did finish the awesome trail build for the camper. But I did...
