    Rice Build thread!

Without the pics Photobucket has been holding hostage this thread is useless. The pics have now been deleted from Photobucket and closed my account. I'm declaring this thread dead.

    Photobucket latest BS!

Alley-Kat I agree except I took it a step further. All my past build threads and instructional posts on several forums are garbage without pics. I have deleted all my thousands of pics from Photobucket and advised them to close my account forever. May everyone else do the same and see them go...

    160 Watt 12V Monocrystalline Solar Panel $115

I've been very pleased with mine so far. It's been in service since last August.

    Photobucket latest BS!

This is the problem with storing things on the web and in clouds. The owners of these services can change their terms of service at any time. I have many long build threads and tutorials that took years to do that are now useless without pics. I suspect many thousands of others are in the same...

    Photobucket latest BS!

The pics are still there. They just show up on forum pages with a sign that says update account. Click on the build threads in my signature and you will see. They have changed their terms of service.

    Photobucket latest BS!

It seems that in the last couple of days Photobucket has locked all mine and lot's of other folks pics. Anything from my Avatar to any pics I have ever put into a build thread now do not work. To make them work I have to buy a $400 a year membership to allow 3rd party hosting. I might have gone...

    I HATE THIEVES!

Mama Squatch just went through similar. Not fun. We've been through it a few times. Boiling oil for the perps comes to mind! What cracks me up is the daily BS about watching what you put in the trash. What a crock. Folks aren't going through anybody's trash. The retailers and Card handling...

    Rice Build thread!

Just an update. I recently replaced both of my vent covers with the proper ones from fantastic fan. Works much better now and Much more light than the fogged up one was letting in. Also I just got back from a 2,200 miles 5 night trip. I stayed in the camper the whole time in different...

    CoolO2 Fans?

I've got a couple of the small 5" (I think) D cell fans. They'll run 4 or 5 nights on a set of batteries. I didn't expect much when I got them but have been surprised by them. Positioned so they blow on your face and upper body on a hot night they make a big difference. They live in the camper...

Shade House / Screen House recommendations please

I've used the screen house a couple of times now. No see em netting does not flow air like regular screen. So in the sun without a good breeze it can get warm in the screen house. With a breeze like at the beach no issue. We had a small squall hit early in the am a week or so ago. The screen...

Looking for the optimal gear shelter

That was probably me in the thread on the Tent-Cot. I'm a huge fan. Never really thought of them as a gear locker though. Set up doesn't get much easier. Just get the collapsible kind not the normal style if you go with a Tent-Cot.

5 more nights in the camper!

I'm also on a fishing forum for smallmouth bass. From time to time someone hosts a rodeo or get together in various parts of the country. I just got back from an Ozark Rodeo. 1,000 miles one way to get there from the east. I spent the 1st night on the road in the campground at Carter Caves...

Good Article on the Necessity of a Fridge

I like my fridge. Do I need it? Probably not. But it sure makes things easier. I'm with Smoke on this one.

    Favorite Battery Monitor System?

Volt meter just doesn't tell the whole story. A lot depends on the battery. I've been using Optima's in my boat for years. When fully charged they are at 12.7-8 volts. When my Powersonic deep cycle gets down to 12.7 I'm at 91%!!! Normal for this battery is 13.4-5 volts at 100%. The ability to...

    Turnbuckle Question

I was thinking about this thread yesterday as I mounted my camper in the truck. I think for those that have access problems I would try a quality wingnut and a split lock washer for a locknut. Even tightened by hand this should be better than no locknut. All the zip tie talk reminded me that I...

    Turnbuckle Question

Electrical supply house is a good place. Thomas and Betts are the best. Do a web search for them. Check this page of my build thread. It has pics of both my locknuts and the SAFETY CHAINS I installed in case something does let go. Easy to do. I intend to upgrade the rear mounts and add safety...

    Turnbuckle Question

Zip ties are my life. I just retired from the phone company. They are great but they are NOT safety wire. Fine as an Indicator as mentioned above. But twisting on a sharp turnbuckle will cut them easily. Also note that the ones that are sold at chain stores are pretty junky and have a short life...

Has anyone installed an automatic propane change-over regulator?

The way my camper frugally sips propane it would be way overkill. It takes a long time to use one tank up.

    Turnbuckle Question

Great advice. I use a simple locknut on one side of each turnbuckle. It's not fun to tighten them down but they work great and will not loosen. Blue lock-Tite will help. But in this application it's no replacement for a Locknut.

FWC Raven Shell, wiring in some power questions

Those SAE plugs are the input for solar panels. They are probably coiled up under the left bench. Check my camper build thread in my sig. I have an Eagle shell.

    Favorite Battery Monitor System?

Put me in the Trimetric corner. Along with their sc2030 charge controller. One of the problems with voltage only is what battery? The Optima Blue Tops I use in my boat are full charged at about 12.8 volts. The HD deep cycle in my Camper is at 100% when it's up to 13.5!
