    Tundra Brakes

I think that's one of the main options for the pre '05 Tundra's. Swapping to the later brakes from an '05 or later. Plus swapping the rear drum brakes for the discs off a Sequoia.

    Tundra Brakes

I would think most any independent repair shop that services these trucks or 4x4 place would be happy to help you out. Upgrading these trucks is mainly just changing pads and rotors.

    How many nights in 2017?

Between 30 and 40 for me.

    double sleeping bag

Same here. Have both summer and winter bags. Most of the time I carry an extra blanket or summer weight bag just because it's handy to have around. I use the camper more in cool and cold weather than hot. In the summer I'm more likely to be camping out of my boat or canoe on an island while...

    Turned off the fridge!

Phil my Eagle is a shell with no water systems. I found it used this way. It does have furnace and stove. I installed the solar and fridge. I didn't really want the hassles of onboard water. So sorry can't help you on winterizing those systems.

    Turned off the fridge!

We haven't used the Eagle since Thanksgiving. Hope to get out in a couple of weeks. The fridge as always was stocked with beer, water, regularly used items ready to add the meal food and go. But we are in a deep freeze for this area. Temps are NOT supposed to get above freezing for at least a...

Looks like you folks are already putting the new rig to good use. Congratulations!

    double sleeping bag

The new bag came in today. 1st impression is good. It seems to be made a little better and has better zippers than the 2 Kelty bags it is replacing. It also fits in about 1/2 the space when packed. That's not surprising. The older bags were a cheaper insulation and had a kind of heavy cloth like...

    Good advice!

COMMON SENSE FROM AN OLD COWBOY Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong. Keep skunks and bankers at a distance. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor. Words that soak into your ears are whispered ...

Suggestions needed: I've got $80 gift card for local Army Surplus store!

x2 on wool army blankets. Great for extra warmth in wet weather and make great packing pads as well. I carry 2 in my truck. Some surplus stores carry stuff that's not surplus. I have what I'd call a heavy duty "Space Blanket". It's kind of a cross between a Cheap blue tarp and a silver space...

    Photo bucket fix.

I'd consider that a temp fix. It only works if you still have pictures on PB. For those of us that deleted out pics, albums, accounts there is no recovery other than rebuilding all the pics in threads.

    double sleeping bag

It's a nice bag. But 44" is pretty narrow for 2 people to sleep in. Especially considering I'm a big boy and the wife sleeps like a starfish! One is too narrow and 2 zipped together would be too wide for the Eagle. So far 2 30"-34" bags zipped together have fit the camper bed well. The bag I...

    double sleeping bag

The interior of my Eagle is kind of a gold/khaki color. I was looking at khaki canvas bags originally. But most fold up so large. The Eagle is pretty small for storage. This almost got me to go for the down bag above. But the one I bought I was able to get in brown. Between that, reviews, price...

    double sleeping bag

I've been using a couple of Kelty 20* bags zipped together. Not top of the line but they have been very warm when used single or zipped together. I recently had a zipper issue that ripped both bags at the foot. Not a big issue I've had them for a while and bought them cheap as a Campmor blowout...

I need to hear a good new joke

Russ and Sam, two friends, met in the park every day to feed the pigeons, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems. One day Russ didn't show up. Sam didn't think much about it and figured maybe he had a cold or something.. But after Russ hadn't shown up for a week or so, Sam really got...

    Merry Christmas!

I'd like to wish all the good folks here on the WTW a Merry Christmas! :D To those that celebrate another holiday I wish you happy Holidays on what ever holiday you choose to celebrate. Hug your kids and families and take time to be thankful for the good things that have come your way this year.

    Air bag and tire pressure

Best way to do this is to get your rig weighed. Total weight and each axle. Local feed store did mine. Contact your tire maker and give them the tires and size you are running. And then give them the axle weights and a description of the truck and camper. Ask them what pressure to run. I did...

Very nice. I ran the old school General MT's on my Powerwagon. I liked them. The new computer designed tires should be even better.

    Kidde fire extinguisher recall

I got lucky on the pickup. I had my boxes ready to go. I knew Fed-ex was bring the shocks for my Tundra. When they dropped those off I just gave the driver my labeled boxes.

    Tundra Brakes

So what pads do you normally use with the DBA rotors? I saw rotors at Summit for $171 but no pads. I found long ago it's best to match the pads and rotors when you can. They were usually developed together.

    Kidde fire extinguisher recall

I'm guessing the old tanks will be rebuilt into new fire extinguishers. Plus there is probably a liability issue if they give you a new one and there is a fire and you have an issue because you used the old one.

    Deaver

Hebegebe I wasn't pointing at you. I've done a lot of reading on Tundra springs lately. Lotsa folks seem to have forgotten that vendors have phones. Your reasoning and mine are pretty much the same for buying new springs. The airbags mostly work fine. Except for the every now and then bouncy...

    Deaver

I'm sure Alcan is also very familiar with upgrading springs for trucks that carry FWC's. When I read the truck forums I see way to many folks who just order the stock Deaver off road springs and then find out they aren't what they need when the put a camper or boat on the hitch. A simple phone...
